Spider-Fan930 said:Great visuals, no doubt. But much like the rest of this movie, it is all surface no substance. Had this movie had more depth, those visuals would be much better. Apparantly, the history of Supes isn't the only thing vague about this movie. Like, the effects of kryptonite for instance.

I'm not saying what he did was right... Buggs does that on numerous occasions, and he knows how I feel about it, so I don't have to repeat myself about it... and considering how he was treated in that earlier post, I'm surprised he didn't lash out even more.bosef982 said:This coming from the guy who'll hop over and bash on me for being "insulting" and then defend Buggs for calling Sr lovers pathetic...?
Way to be consistent.

Kryptonite makes Superman weaker. It does not -- and has never -- taken away the totality of his powers in an instant. Also, when Superman arrived on NK first, he had just pushed himself pretty hard saving Metropolis and Lois, so it'd stand to reason that he was already low on energy. Landing there with the kryptonite laced around, it just sucked away what was left.
After he got his recharge, he was BARELY able to do what he did.
This is easy. This is obvious. Anyone whining to the contrary is just looking for excuses to nitpick and make themselves feel better or to act self-righteous or like they have some all-knowing, all-perfect vision of Superman that none of us can see.
What inconsistencies?super-bats said:well, despite the inconsistencies with Kryptonite affecting Superman, the 3rd act actually showed Supes at his best. The Recharge/Lifting NK/Descent scene was one of the best visuals in the movie......
I can honestly say the third act hasn't "grown" on me.

he recharges himself with a shard still in him. the kryptonite clearly makes supeman powerless before this scene as he couldnt even defend himself agaisnt 3 puny humans. he shouldnt of even been able to fly up to get a recharge with k in him. the movie deceives us into thinking its all out...then screws itself over by the doctor taking some out of him.
bull..i have always seen K make superman powerless almost instantly in every form i have watched or read superman in...and as this movie is meant to be a "sequel" to 1 and 2. well..in the 1st movie it certainly makes him instantly powerless. so much so he couldnt even stop lex from putting a k rock around his neck and then nearly drowns in a pool. in this film it clearly shows how much K sucks the power from him...then contradicts itself by him lifting an island of the stuff with k in him....Code:Kryptonite makes Superman weaker. well he shouldnt of been able to do it period...he shouldnt of even been able to get up there to get a sun charge.. i felt ripped off in that scene once the movie finished as i thought he was free from k. and he wasnt...then when i saw him lift the damn island into space with k growing all around him...nah...that was the final straw for me....actually no it wasnt..the doctor scene was...Code:After he got his recharge, he was BARELY able to do what he did.

whatever...i see it as the opposite...its u looking for excuses to defend the flaw and contradiction that the movie clearly has.
i dont care that it was superman going all jesus on us..and it was a vital part to singers story....thats the problem at its core....the story was all wrong. i felt cheated after this movie. ITS KRYPTONITE dammit. supermans ONLY achilles heel..his only weakness...yet he can lift an island of it into space while still having some in him?

That is some weird quoting system you got there?
I didn't think it made sense to leave that little piece of Kryptonite in his side either, I don't get the significance. He was exposed to plenty of Kryptonite as it was.

It was out of place in my opinion. I wish they cut it.
Yeah i agree with that, they should have cut that part definately, it made things slightly confusing. Though i think it was meant to show that Supermans will and love of humans in general is what overcame the Kryptonite.
I guess I just feel like he was exposed to enough Kryptonite while driving up NK into space. I think the shard was just to much of a good thing.
