I wonder what the reason is for Clark in Smallville to be wearing glasses. I'm sure it has a point in the movie, but that was one of the things that turned me off on the Lois and Clark pilot. They gave him glasses before he decided to adopt an identity.

Never i repeat never use Lois and Clark as a reference to superman mythos lol didnt you know it was an else world tale, on a serious note Lois and Clark didnt really follow things up for example there was no FOS only the globe of knowledge. The reason why clark wears glasses in returns is because of his xray vision.

By the way i hope people dont take my above comments as me hating L&C i actually loved that show.

I liked L&C too, good romance type of show. one of the tops cards says he discovers his x-ray vision in a scene and his glasses are on the ground up close the camera, so I don't think it's because of that. The last thing I think would hamper x-ray vision is glasses anyway... is that true?.

I dont know why he's wearing them. Maybe somebody else knows.

His glasses belonged to his earth father.. he wears them after his death.. i think to help with the loss..

just a theory.

I dont think so, cause he has his powers before Jonathan Died? Maybe he does get them after....

^^^

Is that ment for me..becuase dude it makes no sense to what i typed?

He's going for the nerd look.

Chicks dig nerds. They grow up to be billionares.

He was already working on his Clark persona while in Smallville.

L&C was described by the producers as "A romantic Comedy". The routinly turned down stories focusing on Clark and him being Superman. and the instructions given to writers were "How does SuperMAN love a normal Woman?" Thats' why the Jeffersons were casts as Villains. To show bickering relationships

it's a good question, but I think we'll get a good explornation in the movie... in the showest footage, Quint mentioned that there's a sequence where Ma Kent sits on the bed with young Clark Kent saying "you know, the world can always use more good reporters", and than she gives him the glasses! What ever that means.

On the trading cards, it says that after he falls through the barn his vision which has been blurry has him get X-ray vision powers. Maybe thats why for the glasses, his vision started to get blurry.

I think he got his powers only when he had become teenager.

hello, he lifted up a truck, 30 seconds after stepping out of the space ship

But then he losed them. They were coming back to him, when he became teenager.

I've just supposed so. And I also think that Pa Kent could explain Clark what is responsibility and said that glases are one of the good things how you can masked yourself.

People shouldn't know who you are as Superman.

?????

The blurry vision would work......and the father thing, to be connected to him, would be nice.

Well from the trading cards...
Seems Clark does need them to see as a child. One of the cards described his glasses falling off (in the first 'flight' scene) and his vision was crystal clear... Until he noticed he was not looking at the ground but through it. My guess is that his X-ray and heat visions were developing and they made his eyes less than perfect for a period of time

well, puberty sucks for all teen's. Imagine what it was like when he had to figure out how to shave?

I was told Ma Kent had the glasses made with lead in the lenses to block his X-Ray vision until he could control it better. It was an element left over from JJ Abrams' SUPERMAN script.

Haha, to keep him an "honest boy", so he wouldn't look through girls clothes. haha, I wonder if they explain it in the movie. But how can glasses be made of led?
