As soon as she became involved in a murder investigation where the kid she was protecting was a potential target, she would have gotten a gun.
• Terry O’Quinn is headed back to the island — for Hawaii Five-0, that is. CBS tweeted that the Lost actor will reprise his role as the mysterious Joe White later this season, and McGarrett will have “a LOT of questions” for him.
Can't say I'm all that surprised after his show on ABC got cancelled.
Last Resort wasn't bad but I didn't see how the basic concept of the show could last past a couple seasons. I kind of wonder if the networks should start doing shows that they know will have a limited run, due to the limited scope of the show's concept or structure, instead of running a show until it's on fumes in season 7 or 8. Shows have to be instant hits, which doesn't allow many to find their legs and target audience.Eh. I wanted to like it, but it ended up being a bit of wasted potential. I don't mind the loss if it means O'Quinn might eventually end up on a legit great pilot someday.
Now, Last Resort? That **** hurts...![]()
'Hawaii Five-0' to air special episode after AFC Championship
by Sandra Gonzalez
Hawaii Five-0 has scored a touchdown timeslot.
CBS announced today that the show will air a special episode Sunday following the AFC Championship football game — a high viewership timeslot that is sometimes thought of as second only to the coveted post-Super Bowl position. This year the post-Super Bowl timeslot went to Elementary.
Per the episode description, the hour will find Chin trapped in a Halawa Prison and fighting to escape before other inmates discover he is a member of law enforcement.
And in an especially splashy move, the episode will also feature seven new recordings from the legendary Jimi Hendrix. The songs, which have never been heard before, will be released March 5 as part of People, Hell and Angels, an upcoming collection of Hendrix’s previously unreleased recordings.
That's interesting. Surprised they didn't go with Person of Interest or even Elementary.
Forgot about Elementary getting the post-SB slot so H50 does make sense now.Person of Interest doesn't need the help and Elementary is getting the post-Superbowl timeslot. H50's numbers have been waning a bit this season. Could use the extra jolt of energy.
The show won't be cancelled since it got a syndication deal with a cable network and needs at least 4 seasons. Once a show gets a syndication deal, the major network will try to keep it on as long as possible to ensure maximum payout.Ugh, episode this week was one of the worst episodes I've ever seen.
We had a Jersey Shore knockoff for Danny's nephew who turns out to be some sort of CSI savant.
We have a stupid hook where you vote on the ending. The ending of which was stupid and completely unbelievable and completely contrived.
This is just one of the reasons why I tend to dislike American procedurals. Too many episodes in the season and way too much filler nonsense. I prefer British dramas since the seasons are shorter and its easier to contain the main storylines.
The other part I thought was really disgusting is the humanization of the human trafficker. This dude is the freaking scum of the earth, but oh he misses his wife and son he's so sad! Kono is going to help him get a prison on Hawaii so he can be closer to his family! Geez. I'm sorry Kono is a ****ing wreck. She schtups a Yakuza prince and leaves her gun readily available for his Yakuza brother to steal. And now she is feeling sorry for the HUMAN TRAFFICKER who assaulted A guy who was using him as a witness to try and reduce his sentence.
Sorry just overall a horrible and offensive episode. I think the show has really lost a lot of steam this season and it wouldn't surprise me if this was the last.
Now granted a lot of episodes have a contrived third act plot twist in the murder mysteries that make no sense. For starters, a construction corporation hiring a professional hitman to KILL a teenaged student so her father will get off jury duty and they can plant their own special jury guy in a trial. Seriously? You are going to hire an expensive professional hitman to kill a teenager to replace a guy on a jury for a WORKMAN'S COMP lawsuit?
Seriously some American procedurals has some of the stupidest writing ever.
I almost didn't recognize him since he looked like a shorter, fatter Brendan Fraser.I see the youngest Lawrence brother packed on some weight.
The gimmick annoyed me before I even laid eyes on last night's episode, and I didn't even watch the whole thing.
I somehow recognized him immediately, even though I couldn't tell you a single thing I've ever seen him in.I almost didn't recognize him since he looked like a shorter, fatter Brendan Fraser.
The first two seasons I thought were very well paced in mixing the main storyline with the regular episodes. This season IMHO has sort of been deflated and lost a lot of steam. The show won't be cancelled since it got a syndication deal with a cable network and needs at least 4 seasons. As for the show itself, there just hasn't been a major plotline running through the season like the previous 2. The first season was discovering why McGarrett's father was investigating the governor and Wo Fat. Last year was about discovering what Shellburne was and how it connected to McGarrett's family and the crime organizations. This season should easily have been about what McGarrett's mother knew and was involved in, but have squandered it by doing so many shows without using that thread.
I think they need to introduce another big crime syndicate that is moving in to compete with the Chinese Triads and Japanese Yakuza. Dealing with multiple groups trying to gain footing in Hawaii seems like something the Five-0 task force was tailor made for. Also, they really need to get back to McGarrett's mother's backstory and her connection to the CIA and Wo Fat. Maybe when they bring Joe White back, the writers will do that. I'd really love for the incorporation of more serialized aspects instead of only self-contained episodes that don't have future ramifications. The first two seasons I thought were very well paced in mixing the main storyline with the regular episodes. The show has become IMHO way too formulaic and predictable now. The story arcs have kind of become shoved in the background. Nothing happening with Danny and Rachael anymore. They were making us still wonder that Danny could've been the father of Rachael's son.
I don't know, I just think the show has lost direction and focus and it's lost the excitement and frenetic pacing of the first two seasons.
I mean I just think the cases now are just so bland. I think the Five-O task force should be dealing with bigger, major crimes.
Uncovering a cheating ring at a college is like campus PD stuff.
