Hawaii Five-O - Part 1

Yeah, I read that before. I'm not sure the original Chin Ho, Kono or Duke would get main roles in a series like this today though. Maybe supporting roles like that large Samoan shaved ice seller, but not as one of the main cast. The main cast tend to be younger and more attractive now.

I'm okay with the original cast having supporting roles, but I like the direction they have with a younger and sexier cast, which imo is one of the reasons for this remake's success.

Well most of them are dead anyway. That wasn't really my point. I was saying that if you had the original cast in their prime today and they were making this series for the first time, most of them probably wouldn't have been cast. In today's world every one is cast much younger.

Well, except CSI. :word:

But they don't have large characters like the original Kono or Chin Ho.

The only fairly modern show I recall having that (and it's at least 10 years old) is Martial Law, whose main star was Sammo Hung. But he was a martial artist and the whole show played on the "fat Chinese guy" premise. Kelly Hu was in that too.

I think Sammo Hung would've been great to guest star or even have a role in Hawaii Five-0. He would've recalled the old 5-0 actors of the past, but would've been much tougher and full of surprises.

It's a shame Kelly Hu's character died at the end of last season. She could've also been a cool addition to the show.

Yeah, I'm very bummed that they killed off Kelly Hu's character, especially since they have hinted that a relationship between her and Daniel Dae Kim's character was very likely. But since her character's death was the catalyst that eventually brought down the governor, I guess they saw no reasons for her character to live.

Of course, she could've played a different recurring character on the show, and the character she did play could've had another actress in the role. I suppose though that people feel it more with Kelly, because she's a known actress and people like her.

I think it was cool for Kelly Hu to accept such a minor role that won't last the first season, and perhaps it was because she likes the show alot so she didn't mind.

Plus, I think she's from Hawaii, so she probably chose it to be near family.

She could've had a recurring role though. It would've been a steady job plus she would get to see her family.

LOL, when you are Kelly Hu beggers can't be choosers. Getting some episodes on a big show like this isn't uncommon for lower profile actors. She was probably just happy to get the gig.

So the episode where Daniella Ruah appears is after this next one?

I wonder what happened to McGarrett's other girlfriend, the navy woman from first season.

No Fatties

Their relationship is all at sea.

Am I the only one who wish to see Steve and Kono have a serious relationship? :yay: However, it seems like they are already setting Steve up with the new blonde who joined the team.

I don't think Dann-o's storyline with his ex-wife has ended just because she's now pregnant with her present husband.

Wasn't it said that the baby was Dano's ?

Danny said that she turned out to be further along than they originally thought. Even at the time, I thought it was a ridiculous assumption to make, that just because they slept together once or twice, the baby is obviously his. I wasn't buying it.

Is it possible that she knows her husbands blood type & what not & had everything tested ?

I wish McGarrett's Navy GF came back because she was played by Michelle Borth and she's awesome.

I imagine it's really not all that serious of a relationship and just a convenient sort of really friendly with benefits type of thing.

I'm also wondering when McGarrett's sister will show up again.

I think McGarrett's sister won't return until the whole Wo Fat arc ends.

McGarrett's sister is too busy doing crack. :o
