The Winter Soldier Hayley Atwell/Peggy Carter back for Cap 2!

Agent carter looks so amazing. Whoever came up with this one shot ideas is a genius

If Marvel does an Agent Carter TV show, movie, whatever, I am so there. They need to keep Hayley (and Peggy) in the MCU somehow, I don't care what it takes to do it.

Do you guys think that it would make sense, or not, to show Peggy still being sad (in her own way) that Steve's gone given the fact that it's only been an year since the events of "The First Avenger". I'm not talking about showing a scene where she's brooding over his supposed death like Cyclops did over Jean, but more like a quick moment.

In any case, seeing her in action again in that clip; damn, it makes it even more tragic to know that the two never really had a chance to be with each other and it'll make it that much more bittersweet when they reunite in the present.

It'd make sense for there to be at least one scene with her grieving; but it's possible that, just one year out from the disappearance, she's still holding out hope for him being alive somewhere. Maybe that's part of what drives her as an agent --- she keeps looking for clues that Steve is still alive somewhere, maybe a captive of HYDRA's remnants or something.

An acknowledgement that she still thinks about him, perhaps, but not outright sadness. I think, given the characters and the circumstances, that Peggy would have accepted Steve's death by then.

Spoiler-filled review of Agent Carter from Total Film.

Atwell makes a perfect femme fatale-***-special agent, and this '40s noir-style short looks great and packs some euphoric action moments (which raised whoops from the first-look audience). Carter is a brilliant heroine who could likely carry her own movie. Whether there’s a space for expansion, or whether they’d consider a retro S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off or not, it seems clear that Marvel’s got a ready-made female superhero waiting in its ranks.

Same. The one-shots have seemed relatively pointless in the past. This is the first one to actually get me amped up.
Well Item 47 was essentially a prelude to Agents of SHIELD, The Consultant was meant to tie up some loose ends with The Incredible Hulk I think, The other one was just fun.

The footage is awesome. Do we now know how long the short is?

Thats the longest out of all the one shots right? 5 more minutes and it'd be long enough to put on ABC as a 30 minute special.(commercials.)

That footage is great! Was kind of hoping Emily Van Camp might turn out to be Carol Danvers, but SDCC squashed that dream.

However...

What if Peggy Carter was working for SHIELD in the '50s and one of her co-workers was a guy named Lawson who was really a Kree spy. He eventually dies transferring his powers to Peggy and she becomes Ms. Marvel/Capt. Marvel/Warbird!

No?

OK, just trying to keep Hayley in the MCU and bring her into present day. That woman is fantastic!

Why can't Agent Carter be a direct-to-DVD movie instead of just a One-Shot! :p

I prefer a one-shot
D2DVD just has such a negative connotation

now it could be an hour-and-a-half long one-shot if budget wasn't an issue, but I like it being packaged with another film

I'd watch Agent Carter in her feature length film

Actually this way, more people will watch it because IM3 will probably have high Blu-Ray sales.

Feige had a bit more to say about the Agent Carter One-Shot in a Collider interview. He didn't say they would do a movie with Hayley, but seemed to leave the possibility of something further with the character open.

I saw the Agent Carter short last night. It is fantastic.

FEIGE: Your comment “way better than last year”: does that mean you didn’t like Item 47 or that you just thought this was better.

Do you want me to be honest with you?

FEIGE: Yes.

I had issues with it. Last night’s short though, was fantastic. If you showed that to people before a movie, they would erupt, because you have Haley Atwell, who is phenomenal, and I love her as Agent Carter. And you have great production value. You’ve spent real money on this thing and it shows. It looks great. I don’t want to spoil this for those who haven’t seen it, but for me, when it was over, I wanted to see further adventures with a certain character who’s in it. I could see more of it. Talk about opening the door on that. Is it something that you feel like really works after watching it?

FEIGE: The shorts never start out as that. The shorts are always just us wanting to do a little extra, and a little something fun. We have a team in place. Louis D. Esposito has an incredible directorial eye. So, we just wanna do it. And our relationships with our cast that Lou can call Hayley and she gets on a plane and comes over and does it. They always just start as fun. Then, when you look at them, the fun is, expanding the universe. That’s the fun about it. We take a character we haven’t seen since Cap 1. And I would say, in certain ways, the Coulson shorts, which look very quaint now compared to Agent Carter, but we knew we were killing him. The whole purpose of that was, see more of him before we killed him. Make him more of a fan favorite. And with Hayley, her character, her presence and story affects Cap in the next Cap movie. So that made sense, to have this be a bridge between the two movies to see more of it. And, we just wanted to see a kick ass adventure with Hayley. But, once they’re done, we see that we’ve expanded the universe and people have responded to it, is there anything else we can do with them? And it was a broad conversation like that after Item 47, which some people really liked (laughs), that-

Well-

FEIGE: I’m kidding! I’m giving you a hard time. In some ways, it helped to push Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. forward. What Agent Carter does, who knows? It’s all about just finishing it right now, which is now done, and then we’ll figure out what happens next.
