Drama HBO's Big Little Lies

Elisabeth Moss's awards run was good while it lasted.

Meryl will be in Supporting this show though. Moss lives on...for now.

So this will be campaigned as a series now, right?

Yes, it's moved to the Drama category now it's not a limited series anymore.

What better way to dismiss all worry about the prolonged existence of a show than to get Meryl goddamn Streep on board?

Gotta binge that first season soon.

She's probably only in a few scenes total ala Suffragettes.

I heard she will be in between 3 to 5 episodes apparently. Season 2 to much like the first season will have 7 episodes in total.

That was one of the things I didn't like about Suffragette- how Streep was in so much of the marketing as Pankhurst and she's fine in the role, for all however few minutes she was there. If the film is going to get a big name actress like Streep, at least do more with her instead of making it seem like she's got a bigger role than she really does.

Just finished season one and overall a really great series.

This was a fun show, and I'm looking forward to the season 2 premiere tomorrow.

As I understand it, Season 1 recreated the book and now we are in whole new territory, which makes me cautious. The ending of season 1 was so intense, so surprising, and so complete.. that I fear about them ruining it. I don't know if we need a season 2.

Still, the actors did such great jobs that I am interested in what happens to from here.

Ending 15 minutes early. I see we're adopting the True Blood method of ending super early.

But pretty good start. Once again, none of these people should have ars or driving their kids to school, the murder is a mystery that's slowly going to unravel, and Meryl Streep had a great start as Mary Louise. With her sharp barbs and retorts, she could practically be the Olenna Tyrell of Big Little Lies.

I get why some are tired of Streep but she was so good here. And Reese was really born for this type of roles.

“I don’t care about ****ing homeless people!”

:lmao:

I am so glad my mother in law is nothing like her. :(

yeah I too am tired of Streep but dam the lady is good here

her and Reese were great in the scenes they had together

Kidman looks in prime form here as well love this show watched it just because i'm a huge Witherspoon and Kidman fan knew nothing about the book or anything glad I did love it

I just binged this whole show this weekend and thought it was pretty damn fantastic. But, I question the need for a S2, and the S2 premiere - as wonderful an addition Meryl is proving to be - didn't exactly convince me this will be anything more than an indulgent epilogue.

I've started watching from the beginning as well. I'm in the middle of episode two and all I can think is...

... what the **** kind of a name is Amabella?

You are definitely not alone there! That drove me nuts. I kept thinking someone was just too proud to correct a typo in the script and everyone just stuck with it. :funny:

Season 1 was great and after that premiere I'm not expecting anything less from Season 2. Meryl Streep is killing it so far, and this cast just has great chemistry together.

Just finished season 1. While I feel like it ended with a decent amount of closure, and knowing how risky it can be to move beyond the source material, I'm not going to argue with getting to see this little murder pact play out.

Chloe immediately asking for her phone back just seconds after being told the severity of her actions is very me tbh

Loving the growing animosity between Madeline and Mary Louise. Now that Renata is on their side, Madeline needed an adversary.
