Glad they do. This was the one TV show that whoever did it, needed to do it right.

So how was the dragon cover? As bad as it looked or ok when you actually get it in your hands?

Man, I've been missing out. I've bought series dvd's for other shows, and I think the most I've seen are probably like three or four episode commentaries. Nothing as many as these. And extras are usually thinner, too. They seem really pack these well with content. My season 2 boxset has yet to ship from Amazon. I think ALOT of people have been purchasing season one and two boxsets, because there's something like a 1 or 2 day delay on processing. Usually I've only ever seen that when the product is selling during a good sale.

The extras are great and the picture quality is phenomenal. It's worth buying a blu-ray player just for GoT.

It really is. Every season has got a 5 star bluray release for picture, audio, and extras.

That scene where Benjen Stark tells Jon Snow about the Nights Watch..something along the lines of:

"Here a man gets what he earns, when he earns it."

What was that young **** in a suit of armour (who probably joined recently) doing leading that group in the prologue, one an expert tracker the other probably a ****load more experienced.

Yeah, if anyone's in any doubt they should read those reviews.

I think Benjen is just cut from the same cloth as Ned. I'm still reading the first book, but from I've noticed in the descriptions (ie: when Samwell is introduced) there does seem to be some distinction between the rut of litter, like rapists, criminals, or lower class citizens being brought to wear the black and the ones that come from some kind of privilege. Like Jon, getting called Lord Snow, I think there's mention of how privileged he may seem to others because he's been receiving real training since he was a kid because his father is Ned Stark. Most of his brothers in black hadn't even held a sword until they were brought to the wall.

There is also the kind of the reality of the disillusionment of the Night's Watch not exactly living up to the "legend" of the Night's Watch, too.

Damn. So early on I pre-ordered the Targaryen version from Bestbuy.com. And usually then I go pick it up at the store for a cheaper price and return the online version later. Well I go to Best Buy and almost everything was gone. All the Targaryen covers were gone, and only a few Starks were left.

At least I still have my Targaryen cover coming my way, but I have to wait until it gets in the mail on Thursday.

what are some of the better extras for season 3?

I really like Benjen. Haven't got that far in the books but I hope we see a lot more of him. And I agree with what he said. I just can't see that arrogant young kid (edit: Royce, not Snow!) having proved himself in any way other than combat in the likely short time that he's been at the Night's Watch. I don't expect any of the rapists etc to be leading groups until they've fully gotten over whatever issues they had, fully accepted their new life and proven themselves worthy of leading.

In Snow's case I agree with Benjen (not that my opinion would count lol) that he wasn't ready but it didn't take long for Mormont to believe he had the potential to lead and I can't see the same quick judgment being made on Royce. And he would have got similar tough treatment from Alliser Thorne being highborn with the difference that he'd be less likely to bond with the other ****s or make strong allies like Jon did. Just what I thought when I rewatched and reread that prologue scene/chapter this time around.

I think Baratheon vs Bolton would work better. If they do another four way visual set up, they can throw in Greyjoy and Targaryen.

Michelle Fairley and Richard Madden's commentary at the end of The Rains of Castamere made me sad all over again. :csad:

Did you jump straight to that or have you watched them all already?! I guess it was bound to be them on the commentary. Would love to know what they thought of it.

:csad:

Edit: actually would also have liked to have heard the opinions of the actors behind Walder Frey & Roose Bolton.

Ah, the menu music is Jaime's heroic version of Castamere. Awesome.

I just jumped right into it. It was actually the first thing I watched on the set. And if you really want to know before watching it, [BLACKOUT]both of them cry[/BLACKOUT]. :csad:
