HBO's Game of Thrones - - - Part 12

Damn. So early on I pre-ordered the Targaryen version from Bestbuy.com. And usually then I go pick it up at the store for a cheaper price and return the online version later. Well I go to Best Buy and almost everything was gone. All the Targaryen covers were gone, and only a few Starks were left.

At least I still have my Targaryen cover coming my way, but I have to wait until it gets in the mail on Thursday.

How much less? Didn't Bestbuy wave the shipping cost? On my Stark edition, they waved the shipping. All that upped the price was the taxes.

I really like Benjen. Haven't got that far in the books but I hope we see a lot more of him. And I agree with what he said. I just can't see that arrogant young kid (edit: Royce, not Snow!) having proved himself in any way other than combat in the likely short time that he's been at the Night's Watch. I don't expect any of the rapists etc to be leading groups until they've fully gotten over whatever issues they had, fully accepted their new life and proven themselves worthy of leading.

In Snow's case I agree with Benjen (not that my opinion would count lol) that he wasn't ready but it didn't take long for Mormont to believe he had the potential to lead and I can't see the same quick judgment being made on Royce. And he would have got similar tough treatment from Alliser Thorne being highborn with the difference that he'd be less likely to bond with the other ****s or make strong allies like Jon did. Just what I thought when I rewatched and reread that prologue scene/chapter this time around.

I completely forgot, too, that Royce was a knight. Him being a knight probably led to him getting a command position too.

Did you jump straight to that or have you watched them all already?! I guess it was bound to be them on the commentary. Would love to know what they thought of it.

:csad:

Edit: actually would also have liked to have heard the opinions of the actors behind Walder Frey & Roose Bolton.

I won't spoil it, but you get a quick, like one second comment, on from Roose on what he thought of the Red Wedding. It's on the "Rains of Castamere Unveiled" feature, which man...that was a great featurette. They breakdown that entire episode, and then even breakdown the details between. It's during the lit up sword (hit enter to see) prompt that they have a quick reaction from everyone on their reaction to the Red Wedding in the novel, and I found Rosse's reaction probably almost as funny as the guy who said, "Holy ****!".

But, that featurette was so well put together and informative and just great to watch.

Came across this:

I got my GOT Season 3 bluray in the mail today. (Local UPS is behind schedule due to the insane weather. Cant be helped.) Anyways, this clear slip is pretty...shiiitaaayyy. I was expecting a smooth, well made slip. This thing has a granular texture and the piece is glued together on two sides isntead of just one side. Minor points, but the thing just looks and feels cheap. The rest is great tho. Now that I can see it in person I like the idea they went with, but the slip brings it down. That being said, the contents are the most important part, and HBO gave us 5 star quality where it truly counts at an amazing price. Cant wait to check out the special features this weekend!

Now that I have my 3 major family sigil covers, I don't know who I will get for S4.

I assume those are the sand guys with the vipers and red blood.

Excellent. I'm going to watch them all normally 1st and then watch the commentaries in order so won't get to it for a while.

No shipping, but I pre-ordered it a long time ago when it was 45 dollars. And Best Buy does not correct that like Amazon does, which sucks, but at least I got my Targaryen cover. I went to Best Buy today just to see if they may had one tucked in the back, every single GOT season 3, even the normal editions were all gone. Same with Target.

Rogue Agent's avatar screams Lancel, Osmund Kettleblack and Moonboy.

So you preordered and were charged $45 at Best Buy? I'm pretty sure they'll give you a refund for the difference since it's on sale this week at their own store.

Really? Hmmm should I just take it in to Best Buy and ask for a 15 dollar refund? Hmmmm thanks for the heads up I will try that on Friday.

Just don't forget your name reek it rhymes with leak!

Other places will do this if they have it on sale the week after you bought it. I know Toys R Us does and they tend to have few policies like this. They may give you a hard time if they don't have the item in stock, but just keep saying how you're being punished for giving them their business months in advance. It shouldn't be an issue to get them to price match their online listings. I went to a Best Buy once for a game. The store had it for $30 but it was online for $20 and they matched it. Also did it for a keyboard.

Tell your father I am here.

The Reek in the Hype Arises.
