So I'm nearly finished my rewatch of the show and Melisandre has just taken Gendry. I know she said that she required king's blood, but why couldn't she take Stannis'? Was it explained and I just wasn't paying enough attention?

She needed to burn someone with King's Blood in order to wake dragons,(the dragon part is only hinted at in the show, but that's what her intent was) and since she believes Stannis is the messiah of her religion it'd be a moot point if she burnt him alive.

Ahh got it, thanks if I even look at my phone for a few seconds while watching this show I feel as if I've missed the key to understanding the whole season, lol

Watched the 1st half of season 3 last night. Really shouldn't have stayed up that late on a work night but now that I've started will have to finish the 2nd half tonight.

Yeah, there's a lot of tiny stuff going on all the time. Makes for good rewatches.

It's one of the most rewatchable things ever. Much more rewatchable than any other TV show I've seen.

The Histories and Lore feature is nice. It's a small detail, but them being narrated by characters (and their respective actors) on the show is just great. I didn't know that Robert had Targaryen blood in him by way of his mother. That was just fascinating, considering the amount of hatred he had for the Targaryen's.
