The Leftovers takes place in the wake of a global "Rapture"—which may or may not be the Biblical rapture—and centers on the people who didn’t make the cut, and are left behind in a suburban community. It was created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta.
I'm going to have to check it out.

**** Tywin! That was a good opening for this season tho.

Oberyn is awesome!

The Thenns are scary as ****!

Jon seems to be back in good form.

Do NOT **** with Arya!

Loved this episode!
indeed. These episodes end way too fast!

Though I do have one complaint. If you're going to replace someone, you should at least replace them with someone who at least looks the original. Yes, that means you, Dhaario. :(

Oberyn :hrt:
Tyrion is amazing as always.
Totally laughed at the whole "Lannister/relative" exchange between Jamie and Brienne.
The Hound and chickens is my new OTP. :funny:
Arya smiling while sticking that sword was all kinds of awesome.

In time I think we will be fine with Dhaario, I admit the guy is a little more how I imagined him physically in the book. We saw so little of him, it will take time.

To me the current man is more of what I imagined, I just can't quite get the old guy's face out of my head yet. :(

It totally threw me off too but he'll do just fine. :o

Great pacing tonight. Really brisk. The dragons looked great, Oberyn was awesome, as was Styr (was that Styr that was talking to Tormund?). Judging from the brief preview of next week, we might see one, maybe more, characters from Bran's A Dance with Dragons chapters. I'm glad to see they kept Ser Dontos in, and it looks like we'll get a good look at post-war Westeros.

I agree. I'm not one to ***** too much about recasting especially when the original actor dropped out to be in the new transporter movie. Let me  the original actor. And I think the new guy fits better, but he looks very different. It was off putting, but I'll get used to it.

The Thenn talking to Tormund is Magnar.

The episode could have just been that last scene and I would have still loved it. Oberyn's whole introduction was awesome as well.

Can't wait until next week's episode!

i hope this sort of recasting is kept to a minimum. It didn't help Sparticus any. :(

I've purposely ignored all the rumors about this season but is there any news if Lady Stoneheart will make an appearance this season?

I'm sure the reveal will happen at the end of the season.

We need to keep mention of her in spoiler tags. Non readers do not Google Lady Stoneheart!

Thanks! I'm so excited to see her. :awesome:

I've read all the books. I was too greedy for more not to. :( :p

I just got back from hols not expecting this to air till tomorrow in the UK. I forgot it already is tomorrow now (was 2am)...got very lucky turning the TV on just as it started (although I missed part of the opening scene). Awesome 1st episode! Great to see new stuff like Oberyn & Ellaria & the Thenns, the dragons now getting huge and Arya & the Hound scenes continue to get even better. The new Daario seems fine and I think I'm already over the recast which I thought would be very jarring. I think they handled it well to avoid confusion for most viewers by making it 100% clear who he was. Can't wait for next week!

Who's sword they cut in two in the beginning?
