Between the two, I think Stannis deserves the Throne moreso than Danny. Based on Stannis' actions in the North. Could someone tell me about the missteps Stannis has made in the North?

I daresay Stannis could enact new laws if necessary. Just as he grew a backbone in dealing with Mel after Blackwater.

The thing about Stannis, with someone like Davos or [blackout] Jon [/blackout] advising him then you'd get a lot more room for mercy and progression. Stannis knows that he's not always inherently right about everything. He wants the facts, the hard truths. He's willing to acknowledge that and listen to that.

Well you just can't exclude his biggest failure (Blackwater) and act like that's some kind of mulligan, or do over. He has made massive misteps. And he may make more. Just as Dany has.

I agree, I don't think really either of them have a hand over the other for claim. Both have claims, and both see it as their right by law. I think she may turn dark, I think she might let the Targaryen fully out and possibly be the dragon that is dormant within her.

Really, I feel sorry for the westorosi people and the Houses. This little girl in Esos is completely oblivious to the ways of westeros and it's people. She just wants to rule Westeros and it's people, but doesn't really have the damndest clue about what that means. This is why I'm on Stannis's side. Stanis is a westerosi and knows the people and the customs. Dany is just a girl playing Queen in Esos.

With a good council she might could rule westeros well, but the people are never going to accept her. Least I don't think they will. And her dragons will make her look like a conqueror and scare people.

Jon does not really seem to care for him, he's just saying ya...well he helped us so I better treat him with some things. And he hates Joffery has no idea Dany exists. Or many others for that matter. Stannis was the only one that came to aid, but I don't think Jon see's him as a great leader as much.

I do think there is some wiggle room to Stannis, but I still think his arrogance can take over his personality, and his deep seeded anger.

I don't overlook Blackwater at all, as I was under the impression that it was generally acknowledged as a major blow to his campaign for the throne. However, it seems like everything in the North has been a pretty big improvement when you compare it to Blackwater. By virtue of him having ridden a tide of unusually good luck, you know George is smirking and tittering behind his word processor. :funny:

Spoilers for TWOW
his future dealings with Lord Manderly will be the first big mistake, I think. As far as he knows, Davos is dead. And it seems like Manderly's forces will be a deciding factor in the battle of Winterfell. Since they're behind enemy lines and all. The High Sparrow won't like the fact that there's a R'hllor follower in cahoots with the Northerners and their old gods, either.

I think she has good council though with Selmy/Mormont even. I think without Davos Stannis is not as good as a person. I think they have people that help both of them out. But I still don't see Stannis as understanding Westros, when most don't seem to understand or like him. I think with good council that they do have both could maybe do a decent job, depending on millions of variables that we do not know yet, or where are characters will grow or go to. LOL, none of them may make it to the throne.

Out of all I would want Bran oddly enough.

The idea that Dany could rule Westeros is beyond hilarious imo.

I think the story is setting up for what would have left Westeros in the best possible place after Robert's Rebellion. Ned (Jon) on the Throne.

I don't think that he hates him or thinks him a bad man, I think there's a grudging respect. And certainly Stannis likes him, even if he was pissed off about the rejection of his offer, he sees [blackout] Jon [/blackout] as admirable. His actions in the WoW chapter show that I think. But they're not friends in the way that he and Davos are.

The only person who has a right to the Throne is Rhaegar Targaryen's son and the King in the North by Robb's consent.

Jon Snow. :)

I think Dany could rule just fine if her arch (especially after the events leading up to TWOW) she learns more about her self, and has Selmy/Mormmont by her side as council. They do give good council, and she does really respect Selmy. But just as well I think Stannis could do well if he had [BLACKOUT]Jon[/BLACKOUT] or Davos as his right and left shoulder angels.

Is there any hint to that or is it just a theory? If that's the case, he does, and in true Targ style he'd marry Dany, and they would rule together.

So you think that young Griff is a fake? Interesting if so. That would be a cool twist.

It kinda looks like she's getting her own small council forming in Essos made up of exiles lol between Mormont, Selmy, [blackout] Tyrion,Vic and potentially Gerris Drinkwater and Archie Yronwood.[/blackout]

I feel bad for the Unsullied that're hanging around tonight. :)

Ya I think she could surround her self with the right council.

Dany won't touch the Iron Throne, though I do aspect her to be Jon's [BLACKOUT]Nissa Nissa[/BLACKOUT]. Her or Ghost.

Jon being the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna is still technically only a theory, but come on. It is so obvious in the book, that they have removed most of the evidence from the show so as to try and avoid giving it away. :funny:

And yeah, [BLACKOUT]Young Griff is the Mummer's Dragon[/BLACKOUT].

I dunno who will get it but.

True Targaryens (true rulers) are suppose to be fire resistant though. And Jon complains still about his burnt hand int he book from torching the wight. So I think that may rule him out.

I don't know if Dany will make the throne or not, it does seem that season 2 hints at it, but I'm really really interested to see where her story goes. I think she will be doing something huge though.

The fire thing is a show invention. I believe GRRM even went on record saying that what happened with Dany at the funeral pyre was a once in a lifetime thing.

For instance, Stannis tells Davos that Aerion Targaryen once drank a jar of Wildfire thinking that he'd transform, instead he died screaming.

Jon isn't a "dragon" yet. He must awaken from "stone" first, learn of his heritage, and be reborn. As he is Azoi Ahai/The Prince that was Promised. He continues to have dreams that show this. His dreams about the crypts, and his dream with the black armor and sword made of heat/light.

I think Season 2, better then any evidence in the books or on the show, showed what will happen. Dany goes to touch the throne, and turns away. The Throne is covered with snow.

And well, it is the Song of Ice and Fire. Jon would be exactly that.

Yes, GRRM has gone on record saying that Dany can be burned. The blood magic is what made it work.

But she was still fire resistant in ADWD too. Just like book one it said she was bald, and in the middle of the arena she was hit with fire...and still survived. She is still fire resistant. It happened in ADWD.

Dany may or may not be resistant to "Dragon" fire for some reason, but she is not fire proof. GRRM said it.

her hands still got burnt from where she held onto to Drogon, her palms were blistered.

Dragon fire is pure magic. You can fudge the rules with it, but it is magic.
