I love Danny McBride and loved Eastbound and Down... this is another McBride HBO comedy... that I really can't post the trailers to, but it looks hilarious.

In for Goggins. Meh on McBride.

Feels like a long wait until the middle of July for this show. Looks good though.

Saw the trailer for this after GoT. Looks great.

Danny McBride Says ‘Vice Principals’ Will Only Last Two Seasons

“The whole series is only 18 episodes and that’s it. We just wanted to make a really long movie. It’s one school year and a complete story,” McBride said at the show’s premiere. “This was an old screenplay that Jody [Hill] and I wrote back in 2006. But we needed it to be longer so we added and reworked it and broke it up into 18 segments.”

“HBO trusted us to make those episodes without anyone watching them, so they really, really trust us,” McBride said.

When asked if they would be interested in making more episodes if the first two seasons go well, executive producer and director Hill had a very simple answer. “No,” he said. “We already shot the 18 episodes and that’s it.”

“Vice Principals” premieres July 17 on HBO.

the more the better... i loved every bit of eastbound... hilarious.

Ballers and VP this sunday... gonna be a good week.

McBride and Goggins are hilarious. I could watch those guys act crazy forever. McBride cussing at students makes Sundays complete again. Shea Whigham in a Fox Racing shirt tho... :funny:

I'm liking this one more than Eastbound and Down and I loved that show.

McBride is way funnier if he has someone to match the comedic insanity of another actor. The dynamic between Kenny Powers and Stevie wasn't as funny as McBride and Goggins, and that's just one episode.

Really? I don't think this will top Eastbound, but that's just me.

Kenny Powers is one of my favorite characters of all time but McBride and Goggins' childishness just gets me. I even rewatched the first episode twice.

Agreed. Eastbound was just so crazy. And it's a rarity where the blooper was funnier than the final cut. "LET THE BOY WATCH." :lmao:

But VP has only aired one episode. I can see it getting just as crazy.

I enjoyed it. It's exactly what one would expect from McBride. It's Eastbound and Down with a vice principal instead of a baseball player. It won't reinvent the wheel of comedy, but if someone liked Eastbound, they'll like this.

It has a very Eastbound feel to it, yea.... I thought it was hilarious... too soon to say which is better, but so far i think Coggins(??) is a better costar than anyone in Eastbound was. I lost my **** when McBride said "You know what happens to kids in I.S.S.? They get turned the **** out."

lol, i spent my formative years in I.S.S. that was funny as hell

the premiere was hilarious

McBride is one of those guys that i laugh just by looking at him. he and Goggins had some great chemistry. wish Bill Murray could have had more to do but the beginning with him, Goggins & McBride was great

I love this show lol Goggins is killing it

I wasn't big on the first episode until the last five minutes or so, but episode 2 was great. I'm a huge fan of Goggins in whatever he does, and his character's seriously sinister turn this episode was fantastic.

Show is great so far.

It's sad that they already shot the two seasons (18 episodes total). I'm sure it could be like his previous show, but man, it's hard to get invested.

I agree that it's unfortunate that it's only two seasons, but at the same time, I appreciate that the show chooses to end on its own terms. But liking the show so far. That house destruction was cathartic.

And I need to go back and rewatch because I did not realize that the man dating McBride's ex was Shea Whigham.

Last night's episode was hilarious. Watching Mcbride walk back into the school after the house incident made me cry from laughing so hard. Can't wait for next week

A Danny McBride character reacting to another character taking things too far is a nice change. :funny:

the scene where they destroy the principal's house was hilarious
