The Dark Knight Heath as Batman

I have seen American Psycho. Bateman and the Joker (Nolan's version) are different types of killers.
All you said was that you hadn't seen Bale as an insane killer, and Patrick Bateman is an insane killer.

Heath didn't have the Bruce Wayne look.
I think he could've pulled it off if he darkened his hair a little. He's an excellent actor who's able to immerse himself in roles and has a naturally deep voice that would have lended itself well to Batman. And just imagine that jawline in a cowl:

He would've been great, yeah. And Bale would be a great Joker, too.

...What... movie... is.... this?

Velvet Goldmine. It's... uh... interesting?:brucebat: Still, it shows how versitile Bale is. I do however like the idea of Ledger as Batman, but I think the tragedy would be a little worse now if that would've been the case.:csad:

It would have been interesting to see Ledger as the Dark Knight. But we have him as Joker which is the next best thing.

I think they both fit their current roles in the Dark Knight more than the other. Bale definitely has a Bruce Wayne look to him. Ledger seems to have pulled off the new Joker look amazingly well. I couldn't really see it the other way around.

Any great movie has a magic about it. The story, script, actors, and feel all has to come together. If you took anything out of place and switched it around, you would probably ruin the magic. If this movie is as great as it seems to be, it probably couldn't have been done better.

I'm just glad it all came together.

Once again, I have seen American Psycho.

The Joker is an anarchist killer clown. Patrick Bateman is a delusional dark satire of the 1980's. They are VERY different characters.
Then why the hell did you say you haven't seen Christian Bale as a insane killer!?!?!?!?

Then you should have said you haven't seen Bale as an anarchist killer clown. Because he has played an insane killer.

I would have loved to see Bale as Joker...He could totally own that role like Heath is doing...
I think Heath was skilled enough to be Batman...

well i rather think of this...

what if heath were cast as the scarecrow? :)

The next best thing? Are you kidding me? As is, I think we're all about to find out that Ledger was born to be the Joker.

It would've been a waste of his talent as an actor. For proof of this, see the clip from the swedish website. You can't waste talent of that caliber behind a mask.

When the Joker was still uncasted, I threw out the idea in a couple of threads that Bale could have made a great Joker. When Heath got cast, my immediate thought was how interchangeable the two actors were in each role.

And honestly, for all those saying that Heath doesn't (didn't) have "the look," he was much closer to Bruce Wayne than the Joker in looks. He would have been a square-jawed, 30ish, handsome, well-built man. I don't see how that isn't Bruce Wayne.
