The Dark Knight Heath Ledger Dead - ALL talk/rememberance and discussion in here

W/ that said I do have questions. A friend of mine back in July said something startling to me. She said she actually met Heath at a party, and she said he was doing massive amounts of cocaine. Those close to Heath knew he had an additticion problem. At that time I feared something like this, but it quickly passed. He seemed like a great guy, but we all have our demons. I mean, how do you accidently overdose on something? Somewhere your brain should be telling you, wow Heath ... you're taking one too many pills in the past few minutes / hours, etc. Not only that, but he locked his bedroom door. Why the need to lock your bedrom door when you own the entire flat on the top floor of the apartment?

As saddened as I am over this, I do agree; this was no accident. Dying from overdose takes a bit more than just swallowing down 10 pills with water. The body almost always vomits them out when you're in the middle of sleeping, thus you'd have to take anti-vomiting(dunno the technical name for them) pills along with whatever else you're taking.

if wbc protest at his funeral I hope they get an ass kicking of epic proportions

And if they do? I'm sure they will.
I can't be the only person who'd flip **** over a funeral of a lost human life being ruined by ape-**** crazy protesters.

Then despite all your research and knowledge of the guy, you don't seem to know much about him, especially something so basic. Jack is no saint, he's actually quite a crude and careless individual but um, you go ahead and continue to be surprised.

I never said he was a saint. Thanks for putting words in my mouth. Give me an example when Nicholson acted this way about someones death? Can you do that? Didn't think so. That would be a FIRST. Regurdless of being a jerk here and there, we're talking abot someones reaction to DEATH? "Do you get me sweetheart?"

Just seen Nicholson on Sky News in UK in a different interview and he expands on this saying he's warned many people about sleeping pills and uses the example of when he took the same drug and nearly drove off a cliff. Seemed a lot more sincere....don't have link as literally just on the news.

Jack was around in the sixties and seventies possibly the worst time for drug use so he probably knows what he is talking about. people like Ozzy ozbourne regularly say they are lucky to be alive when they consider the stuff they put inside themsleves.

This is why i thought the tradgic death wasnt much of a surprise if it was someone like Will Smith or Tom Cruise i would be much more shocked.

I definitely wouldn't grin and say "I warned him, I told him so! ME. ME. ME." Can't make a comment without making himself look like a ****ing supervisor.

Sorry, maybe that was my gut reaction to your question. I'm sure i'll regret it later.(no pun intended)
It's always about Jack :csad:

This happened so fast yesterday it was insane.

i first learned about this on Superherohype. I felt sick when i saw the heading of the article. But when i clicked on the article there was no info or citation.

Then I went to yahoo & aol to see if there was any mention of it on their homepages, but there wasn't (that's how fast this was happening).

I was like, "please let this be the world's worst viral marketing idea."

Sadly it wasn't. Articles started popping up and the 5 o'clock news confirmed it.

I'm not a huge heath ledger "fan." I never saw his movies or followed his career, but was happy to see how he was pulling off The Joker.

Sudden death is so painful for the world to deal with, but that feeling is ten fold when it involves someone so young and talented.

My heart goes out to his family. May God bless them and provide some sort of comfort during this painful time.

Completely missing the point I made and followed up with a pun, very mature.

Im not gonna get drawn in to a silly arguement, its not worth it.

I am done with this thread, its getting too much off topic

Well, if he was also drunk and passed out, his body probably didn't respond or try to fight off those Ambien pills.

Ok now it's makin a bit more sense....

Lol don't worry i know people on imdb who live at Perth and are saying they won't let it stand if they do try it.

NOW THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING!!!!

Westboro Baptist Church vs. the Nerd Herd. Maybe it would be televised on PPV.

Don't be such an idiot stereotyping. And are you not a NERD too?

And it wont be batman fans. but Australian Heath Ledger fans.

thank you.

First of all? What did Jack say? I'm on my phone, and have limited ability to go back in this thread ...

Nicholson is a great actor, but he's also known to be widely egotistical and inconsiderate. Great actor, but even w/ Heath being so young, and I'm being completely honest (even before his death) I thought Heath was a better actor w/ more range and was quickly improving. And from what little we'd seen w/ the Joker I thought it was going to be a much more unique performance, and probably better than Nicholsons. He looked that good in what little we've seen so far from the Joker.

Heard the news in the early hours of this morning, uk time my god I'm shocked and saddened, a fine young actor with a heap of talent & unfufilled potential, my heart goes out to his friends and family.

I hope they dedicate Dark Knight to him now?

Well, death comes in 3's, correct?

Suzzane Pleshette of Newhart, Brad Renfro, and now Heath.

Renfro was another talented actor - this O.D. was the real deal. I really do think Heath's death was accidental.

When told about Ledgers death Nicholson asked how he died and they told him "overdose." Nicholson thought for a second and said "I warned em" then smiled and walked off.

You clearly haven't been a subscriber to the movie forums for over 5 years like I have. I don't think Nicholson is THAT great either but many people do.

True, Imma fan of Nolan's Batman more than Burton's but Jack is a legend and Heath was on his way to being a top notch actor (already was one) and perhaps a legend too.

Jack Nicholson is an icon. Like it or not. He's not like you and me. The man has influenced popular culture more than some people here seem to realize. I'm not defending Jack per say, I know sometimes he can be pretty disgusting and rude. I'm just saying that Jack doesn't have to watch his words like most people have to. He should watch his words but he doesn't have to.

The Westboro Cult will not be there. I heard that they have been sued severely and are out of pocket to the tune of a few million. And sooner or later the American givernment will bring them up on treason charges. What you have to wonder is whether they would risk more of their money in order to give themselves the surfire publicity that picketing Ledger's funeral would bring? These people are vultures. Their children are vultures. They cannot be trusted to show decency. But if they do it will not stand. Someone will stop them. In the past the Hells Angels have prevented them from causing any real damage. And now I imagine that a lot of fans will do the same. but what we do not want is a circus. The man is dead, he has a child. What he needs is a respectful send-off. A chance for his family and close friends to say their goodbyes with privacy and ginity. This should not be a chance to score political or religious points. But, as I said before, the Cultists are vultures and zombies. They do not think as you or I do. They are beneath conventional morality.

R.P HEATH YOU WILL BE MIST AND ALWAYS REMMEMBERED!!!:hoboj: :cmad:

thoughts and condolances to his freinds and fmaily and collegaues.

i think out a mrak of respect for family maybe the film should be in remberance fo heath and maybe tone down the portion of jokers story.

there wont really be a good time its alwasy gonnae be there and espcialy on opening night. so since we know harvy is the back bone i think mayeb just swap the roles over theres plenty of time to sort this.

but if they want to pospone th emovie i think thats maybe not such a bad idea.

yes we have lost a great friend and actor but a father , son and collegeue has also passed.

R.I.P HEATH

What ever. There have been many celeb deaths reported here and didn't get a quarter of the attention Ledger has gotten. Why? Because it really comes down to the fact that he's playing the joker. Had he not been cast, his death wouldn't have gotten the response its received thus far. So don't give me that ignorant crap about him just being a man. It's evidently more than that.

People need to realize that The Joker is one of the most iconic fictional characters ever, be it in comic books, on the TV screen or at the cineplex. Millions of people have a very deep-seeded affection for the character, and for those people, it was thought/hoped that Ledger's performance would be THE seminal interpretation of the character.

So, yes, we do mourn the loss of a father, son and brother. But for many people, not only has Heath Ledger passed, but so has The Joker. So whine and cry all you want about your belief that people wouldn't be so upset over this had he not been cast in the role of The Joker.

You're a funny one to be tossing around the term, "ignorant."

Pest In Peace, Mr. Ledger. May we all go see your final performance (halied by many as a "tour-de-force") and stand and applaud your work. You have given much to us, and I, for one, intend to give you the respect and adulation that you deserve.

"Ledger told The New York Times in November that he "stressed out a little too much" during the Dylan film, and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy".

"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told the Times.

"I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." He said he took two Ambien pills, which only worked for an hour, the paper said."

The preparations for the joker role made him physically weak and if you severaly loose sleeping patterns that could lead to health problems.

well he aint no legend to me. And never will be. Not until he pulls a brilliant, non typical Jack charcter outhis ass that isnt like the rest where he is smiling constantly through it. I mean damn, can you just imagine what a Nicholson/Katie holmes baby would look like...scary!
