Whoever called Ledger Joker and Daffy Duck is spot on. I knew I'd heard that voice somewhere. Now Ledger is equal parts midwestern nerd, old Hollywood gangster, amateur vaudeville performer, Linda Blair.... and Daffy Duck.

exactly, especially with the great potential between the characters

That's the problem with the same characters in a 'continuous' story for over half a century - you eventually run out of relevant material and development and have to begin recycling. Everything that was good when it first came out it now sadly overused and underappreciated.
