About TDK and the Joker, yes, the character might not come back now. Under what excuse, I don't know. But I think TDK will be immediatelly lifted as legend even before its release.

This was completely unexpected. I'm not crying, but I'm close to it. A sad day for Batman fans (and Heath fans in general) everywhere. On the bright side, this will cause a lot more people to go see one of his final (and probably best) roles. This is just so hard to believe.. he was getting better with every movie. Wow.

"You're nothing but a pathetic bastard that has gotten obsessed with that role he will be the death of you someday"

Police are now going to take her under custody for influence to suicide

simbiosis, I hope you didn't make this up, because if you did, you are sick.

Everything I've read points to the fact he was dealing with violent mood swings, and drug/alchohol addiction.

First I'd like to say how sorry I am for Heath and his family. I know he is in a better place right now.

Second, at the age of 21 I have been very fortunate to not have experienced much tragedy in my family. No one in my immediate family has passed away. But I still am very shocked at the news.

I haven't felt this way about an actor since Chris Farely tragically passed away. I was very young at the time and it really kicked home the message that just because I looked loved an actor, it didn't mean they were immortal.

Rest In Peace Heath Ledger. "May the Angels lead you into paradise."

The voice mail must be bogus, I mean it doesn't sound like anything someone would say.

This might be difficult for people to understand but the Joker didn't kill him. He enjoyed the role and got into the mindset (when filming). Don't make it into something it's not.

Please people, use some common sense right now and don't react to obvious ploys for attention that try to aggravate people's emotions right now. Go to reputable news sources if you feel you need any sort of confirmation until we can be sure of what happened. A man has passed away. Enough.

For someone who had little knowledge of Heath Ledger's roles in the past, but had become so enamoured and admiring of what he was willing to give to a genre that doesn't receive much respect, I can only wish his family, friends, and fans of all his work some sort of comfort right now. I'm absolutely shocked. Because of this incredibly anticipated performance, for the past 6 months I began to watch past interviews, read articles, and attempted to discover who he was as a person. He was fascinating, and I felt like I was just beginning to know and admire him.

The level of professionalism and dedication he was willing to give to this role makes me feel like we have just lost a whole future worth of great performances that will never happen. I think this is devastating news for everyone on these forums, and I believe it is a testament to his talent that he was able to capture all of our imaginations and enthusiasm when so much uncertainty revolved around his original casting.

I'm not going to lie, I am more concerned with Batman even today than I am for Heath's family. He lived a short but good life and he won't be forgotten. Going through the motions and taking a piss every time a celebrity dies might work for some people, but I choose just to respect the guy and move on. It is his family's tragedy to deal with, it is a loss for cinema and a brief shock for me. To claim it as anything more, or to claim that it is a real tragedy for me as some have, would be disrespecting Heath.
