Heavenly Sword showcased in London - Click this-

It had a decent development time though. I mean people say X years but most of that was pre-production. I'm suprised that they didn't indentify the length as an issue and try to address it somehow.

i miss you Zenien... how come you dont come by anymore? was it something i said? its my feet isnt it...

That is disgusting. Please tell me that it is fake.

There were also complaints that there wasn't enough enemy variety, bosses were cheap and that combat got stale.

Variety complaints were non-existant in God of War, but there was more variety in combat in the entire demo of Heavenly Sword. :csad:

This game is awesome and it's also very, very short. Took me one day to finish. I still had a great time so I rate it 8.

HI GUYS, I JUST PICKED UP HEAVENLY BABE, I MEAN SWORD!!!:oldrazz::D I'LL BE BACK IN A LITTLE WHILE TO GIVE YOU A FEW THOUGHTS ON IT, I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIS THING, OK, I'M GONE!!!:D:up:

How long did it take for you to beat it? And if the GOW combat was stale, and since it IS an action game, it wouldn't have done well, and gotten all the awards and perfect scores that it did. For your insult will now kill you. Before you die you'll realize there's a lot to his combat. Unless of course he goes straight to an awesome grapple, and then he'll probably rip you in half.

HI GUYS, OK, AFTER PLAYING THE GAME FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS, I CAN HONESTLY SAY, IN MY OPINION, THAT HEAVENLY SWORD IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!:up: I KNOW NOT ALL OF YOU WILL AGREE, BUT THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME, IT'S OUTSTANDING!!! I LOVE THE CHARACTERS, ESPECIALLY NARIKO AND KAI, NARIKO IS FIERCE AND KAI IS JUST INCREDIBLY LIKABLE, IN AN ODD SORT OF WAY!!! THE GAMEPLAY IS ALLOT OF FUN AND THE PUZZLES AND KAI MIX THINGS UP A BIT, THE CINEMATIC STORY TELLING IS FANTASTIC AS ARE THE CHARACTER ANIMATIONS AND VOICE ACTING, ANDY IS AWESOME AS BOHAN!!! I HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME YET, BUT FROM WHAT I'VE PLAYED SO FAR, IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH THE BUY, 9.8/10!!!:D:up:

I got to play the game for an hour today, but then I took a nap and went to school, and now I'm stuck waiting for my family to be done with the TV! :cmad:

God of War had plenty of variety. Stop skipping your dementia meds :o

There were about 4 weapons in GoW but I honestly only really used the sword. It was more efficient to level that up than to spread it across the other 3.

"Dude" just because you can switch between 3 stances in Heavenly Sword doesn't make up for the fact that it's a "press any button and you get a combo that does almost exactly the same end result" fighter or beat out the fact that you can jump in GoW along with using magic that allows you to do more stuff in the heat of battle then just swing the sword. :o

Someone talking about Hell mode, which really just validates my stance on why I'm going to play hell mode first.

I breezed through Heavenly Sword on Normal mode, dying only 4-5 times (once because I didn't know you shouldn't kill the engineer with MASSIVE damage using Kai, lol). I've beaten God of War on God mode as well as other games in the genre, so some might have it tougher. At first I didn't like that it wasn't too challenging for people who play these kind of games very well.

But now I understand that's the default difficulty for the masses who always complain Devil may Cry and Ninja Gaiden is too tough. I played Hell mode and haven't beaten it yet, but it definitely forces you to use a lot more combat strategies and tactics. This is the mode that forces you to learn how to play the game inside and out (I hope there is an even harder mode afterwards!)

The deepness of the combo system makes a lot more sense when you have to choose more carefully when best to use what. I now even try to throw more objects and time my use of her super attack since it helps get through a level easier when I never bothered with in Normal.

Overall HS is a great, great game with seemingly excellent replayability (especially with the secret vases and 3-star rating system of the sections). Games like this aren't RPGs where you pplay it once and are basically done... if the play mechanics are great and the challenge is there, you can play a good beat 'em up a dozen times and still not get bored.

I give the game 4.5 stars out of 5. An excellent title no action PS3 gamer should be without.

You guys better buy this game if you want it to be longer.

It's a two-way road, this video game business. Developers want you to buy their products so, in turn, if you request something from them then you had better be willing to front the cash. During a presentation and Q&A at last night's Warhawk tournament at 3Rooms, Tameem Antoniades (co-founder of Ninja Theory) was asked what his response was to the criticism that Heavenly Sword was too short. He replied that Ninja Theory are definitely interested in extending the experience via downloadable content - but only if it sells well.

The game has been getting good reviews pretty much across the board, with the most common criticism being that there simply isn't enough game to play. With the marketing push that is happening in Europe (we couldn't get through the paper this morning without being greeted by Nariko's face at least twice) we expect the game to sell well, but will it sell enough to persuade Ninja Theory to release extra content? We sincerely hope so. If you want to see it happen, then put down the money and buy the game.

Well I was going to be buying it tomorrow anyway, but I have a feeling that Downloadable content will equal "Pay for these expansion side stories!"

Still though, looking forward to playing it. You can be sure I'll post my impressions and stuff.

The game is a tiring but fun, tiring because the SiXaXis aftertouch controls can be murder, fun because you ALWAYS have to be aware of whats going on around you. I've only reached Whiptail so far and I'm enjoying the game.

I do see some reason for its short length though:
*Extras such as videos and the "anime" are unlocked as you go along the game rather than collecting points and purchasing them
*Scaling walls and such are quick affairs because of the "Hero" sequences

wow 60 bucks for a short ass game, and yet you still need to fork over more money to have a longer game. glad i did'nt buy this crap.

They haven't announced any DLC or if you'd have to pay for it.

Can't you turn off the Sixaxis control like in the demo? I think it changes it to triangle.
