Hi Guys,

Now I'm a big Superman fan but I'm not totally up to scratch with the comics. I just tend to just buy Grpahic Novels from time to time but I was interested in buying the Superman New Krypton Graphic Novels. I see that there are 4 volumes but can anyone explain to me what order they go in and if I should buy anything that leads into them?

I assume its:

New Krypton vols. 1-4
Last Stand of New Krypton vol. 1

Is that right?

DO NOT BUY ANY OF THEM!!!

That's about the best advice I could give and here's why. There was a lot of promise in the titles during that era outside of the Nightwing and Flamebird fiasco over in Action. I didn't like the way Robinson wrote Supes until he wrote World of New Krypton I thought that particular series was amazing, his work on SUPERMAN (the book) with Mon-El and The Guardian was also quite well done. The Supergirl tie in issues were some of the best that title has ever seen. Too bad all that work amounted to absolutely nothing by the end.

Absolutely nothing changes cause of this story. Superman and Supergirl remain the only real ties to Krypton by the end of it all. 99% of the kryptonians all die. The Guardian hasn't been seen since, General Lane goes back to being dead, Mon-El, Zod & friends and Chris Kent go back to the Phantom Zone with Chris going back to being a kid and forgetting his time as Nightwing eventually. It has no real after effects whatsoever outside of the one lingering thread known as Superwoman. Simply because The War of the Supermen portion was so lazily executed, poorly constructed and anti climatic it completely derailed all the momentum built up during the past 4 years of Superman comics (the work of Johns, Busiek and Robinson himself).

It was terrible and the one reason I'd say just avoid New Krypton altogether. It was a real shame but that's just the way things went. You'll find yourself possibly enjoying it only to be severely let down by it's complete **** ending. Save the money and purchase something else.
