Such a shame that these films won't be bogged down by trying to connect to each other?

More of a shame that WB was actually considering pushing forward with a unconnected JLA with younger versions of Batman and Superman, a few years ago when Superman and Batman already had decent to great established olders characters.

Thank god they dropped that idea.

It really isn't DC comics fault they are under the WB Banner.

I mean really say GL is a hit - I wouldn't mind seeing him track down Superman, because his fellow Corps told him of a 'kryptonian on Earth. Superman is an alien, the ring corps are to

I wouldn't mind a crossover with batman or superman (not both a once) but that's it

I've always been a DC guy, but what Marvel is doing is great... solo movies that are still connected in small ways leading up to the Avengers. Why WB/DC is not doing this... I'll never know. Even if we never saw other heroes, something would be nice. In BB, maybe a news report in the background about a "brightly clad hero" in Metropolis. There could be plenty of stuff like that in all the movies that at least acknowledges each other.

Agreed.

Even if they don't make a JL film I would love to hear/see little mentions of other heroes

I noted that, Val Kilmer also says something about Metropolis in Batman Forever.

- THOSE are nice, but they are kind of fleeting.

Not saying all the movies have to interconnect. But an easter Egg or two would be nice.

I esspecially don't get how they wouldn't want to benefit from the huge success of Batman by giving some kind of connectivity.

It's very possible to just "ignore" the heroes during their solo movies, then just all of a sudden have the Justice League. Might actually be the best way to go, so they are not restricted to anything that might happen in a solo movie.

Are people suggesting we want a cross pollination of Nolan's Batman with this GL and the upcoming Superman? A big hell no to that. Nolan's Batman just doesn't fit.

Not Nolan's Batman specifically but future Batmen, SUpermen, etc.

I wouldn't say nolans, but if they ever did a golden era style batman movie it could work, i think it would be cool to see a grey and blue batsuit on the big screen

New poster of GL :hal:

Watched the trailer. I love it, but I'm still seeing Ryan Reynolds being Ryan Reynolds.

He's trying, though. God love him for that.

It's apparent WB is planning to bring the Nolan Batman and this together. Look at the similarly overdesigned neckpieces on Batman in TDK, and on Abin Sur in the trailer.

Despite them saying they're keeping each movie series separate?

You're right. That's what I get for not paying attention. Well played...

i really dug the look of the ring real alien looking design but also like its made of green marble and onyx with silver detail i am liking it and will probably buy the replica when they make it

I think I would prefer they had left his eyes alone.

The ring must change when it's given to Hal because it looks a little different when abin sur gives it to hal then when Hal is holding in the close up of his hand

I thought the trailer was awesome.
But...
The costume would have looked better like this:
I still think the movie will be excellent.

I don't think it would be that hard to merge this GL and the new Superman franchise into the same universe. Nolan's Batman won't mix. But Batman teaming up with guys who fly in space always seemed...forced to me in the comics, as well.
