EVerything is all sweetness and light, and at Harry's funeral, Peter proposes to MJ - and she turns him down and walks away, like Peter does to her in the first movie. Thus MJ may or may not appear in Spidey 4, and they can easily pull in Gwen instead.

Actually I don't think this will happen but I do believe it would be cool.

It would be interesting to see but why would peter propose to her at the funeral?

Well, MJ confessed her love for Peter and they kissed whilst standing over Uncle ben's grave, so what difference does a ring make?

... whaaat?

...Are you saying the funeral is gonna be in the big city? :P

... We see Peter proposing to MJ right after "do you wanna push me away?" in the trailer...

and why would MJ turn Peter down? MJ loves Peter as much as Peter loves MJ. She gave up her wedding for Peter! sheesh, how stupid would that be? That would be a VERY messed up script if they had in the second one have MJ say "I love you, Pete. I love you so much" and then they kiss RIGHT after MJ ran away for her wedding and then told Peter "I know there will be risks, but i want to face them with you!", then in 3 have her say "oh well, bye, stupid, i'll see you in heck."

...

and about the Gwen thing. I think they'll have her killed by Venom. You know, have her thrown off a building by Venom, then Venom holds Spidey to the ground...

MJ would be saying, "I love you but I can't do this right now."

They can't marry, because Kirsten probably won't appear in the fourth film. We know MJ doesn't die. Thus all she can do is leave.

Oh come on, Gwen is there to replace Kirsten in Spidey 4. That much is blatantly obvious.

It COULD happen...but I think the final scene of the film will be Peter, and Peter alone. (doing what I do not know)

Peter alone? That means his doing only one thing...and it's...baking cookies...

I don't know if it will happen at a funeral, but I think that will happen. It's a really good ending. MJ has a lot of good reasons for not wanting to be with peter.

I imagined this as well.

it is possible but i think if peter proposes to her then it would be at resteraunt or something. i also think that mj will return for a sequel . peter should be attracted to gwen but never be married to her.

I could see this as a possibility....EXCEPT, Amy Pascal says she wants there to be no loose ends or cliffhangers (she is studio head) and Sam says they wrap up all stroylines from the last two films.

I suppose if they made it appear they're breaking up for good COULD be possible....but it seems too bleak for Sam Raimi (save for A Simple Plan and Darkman, but Spidey ain't Darkman).

My guess is that they get married on a hill at the end....predictable....but fitting.

True, but it'd be so awkward asking at the funeral of his best friend's and after harry sacrifices himself. and anyway marriage IS a big deal. maybe wait AFTER the funeral. haha. Oh and also not only that but mj confessed her love for peter after uncle ben died, not when the funeral was going on.

There's no way that they can tie up all loose ends (that's a front) something will have to linger.

Poor Visionary. So misguided. Spidey 3 will most likely be the last for Raimi and the cast. So, they'll tie up all loose ends and let the new team do their thing.

Oh come on, since when do studio heads know anything. And Sam would love to lead us on telling us that. That's my belief and I'm sticking to it. I do not want to think that this movie will be incredibly dark throughout and then end on a happy note. I want nothing to do with a happy ending, much less a wedding. MAYBE if it involves him swinging around with MJ but otherwise, no thanks. This is not a chick flick.

Perhaps we find out MJ is Uncle Ben's real Killer!!!! Holy Swerves and Plot twists Batman!!!

But Tobey probably won't be back for 4 either. So they could easily repalce Kirsten if they replace Tobey

Beat me to it.

First, what do studio heads know? Well about the intricate and overycomplicated histories of the comics? Probably very little, but the tone of their $300 million tentpole and most costly Hollywood film ever produced under their watch....probably a GREAT DEAL. Sam may have ideas but all his ideas have to pass a committee that may modify, subtract or add to it and will have ideas of their own (the price you pay to get that $200 million+ budget).

The committee must be satisfied. And in a movie where the studio has said they want all loose ends tied up, in case this cast does not return for four and they don't have to continued a cliffhanger with a different cast, you bet your as there will be some closure compartively to this film and given that its the summer tentpole for Sony that needs some finality, expect the ending to be happy.

Besides, the last two were fairly upbeat endings (well 2 more than 1) and 3 has to close those movies out. There is a definate set-up for a wedding ("I always imagined you getting married ontop of a hill").

If that makes this a "chick flick" you obviously must have hated the first two movies and let's not even mention the comics which played like a soap opera with spandex and superpowers (and last I checked Peter is "happily" married to MJ in the comics).

We'll see though.
