Here's my guess - GUESS - at the end of the film

i think that could work. have peter propose, but before he gets an answer comes the attack from harry. the film gets so stuffed with story from there that the auidence really doesint get MJ's answer. then, by the end (though i wouldint say during the funeral...i dont know...do they want to end S3 on harry's funeral? Is that a good idea?) MJ has seen peter go through so much that she becomes unsure of her answer. maybe even have her wanting to say yes in the beginning, but by films end have her see peters dark side, leaving her scared about marrying peter?

but really, after the whole "i need your help" thing, that would make her seem like a *****ebag.

how about, have him try to propose to her again midway through the movie, she says no, he breaks down, the suit takes over some more, and that gives us the lame motivation for peter to do all the weird crap he does "bomb in harrys face, gwen, etc." then he comes to marry after something tragic, tells her he needs her help....that could work.

blah blah blah, peter battles the suit, we get venom, then the ultimate brawl, in which peter needs to save MJ, we exit on the two needing to work on their new problems, but still together, working things out.

i could see that happening, but im always wrong anyway, so...

it could happen, but i do not think it will happen. if peter does propose it will be in the middle of the movie probably.

EVerything is all sweetness and light, and at Harry's funeral, Peter proposes to MJ - and she turns him down and walks away, like Peter does to her in the first movie. Thus MJ may or may not appear in Spidey 4, and they can easily pull in Gwen instead.

Actually I don't think this will happen but I do believe it would be cool.

That's has the to be the most ridiculus thing I've heard in a long time.

I'm not feelin' this one kev. If MJ aint coming back for the 4th it'll be because her sorry carcass is pushing up daisies. Plus peter proposing at harry's funeral? Thats hearless man, heartless.

If there is a wedding (at the very least I expect an engagment) it will be done in a very bittersweet way for an ending.

This is a dark movie but it does start off light and the whole thing is about the bittersweet theme of forgivness. Peter has to forgive Flint guilty or not (as Harry does Peter) and Venom has no conscience in him or sense of forgivness in him and thus his end is inevitable as a self-destructive force.

But anyway, the movie is about Peter finding that and being able to stick it out with MJ. The movie is going to be dark but want to end on being hopeful. This movie will not end on a complete downer note. I'm not sure there is even a Spider-Man story in the comics that ends on a complete downer (even the death of Gwen Stacy has Peter find help in MJ who stays with Peter promising a better future down the road) save for perhaps the origin.

I doubt the movie will end completely depressing. Outside of Batman Returns I don't think any superhero movie ever has anyway, and I doubt Sony wants to follow twhat was the least lucrative Batman movie save for B&R then.

yup it is still marketed to kids so i think the movie will have a nice/happy ending.

probably, but peters life will never be perfect. he will always have problems because he is spiderman.

yeah, but the ending to spider-man 2 was great. it was a nice, happy ending for peter and you were happy for him and mj. they should make it the same for this movie.

I don't think the movie should end on a happy note. Plus, we know that Harry dies towards the end, which will be a sad time for Peter, MJ and Aunt May. I hope to hell there isn't a wedding.

I'd be happy with them engaged, maybe she says yes before the battle royale or he asks her right at the end of the film. There is a scene in the trailer that looks like he is kneeling in front of her and her hand is reaching for him.

yeah, if that is when peter asks her to marry him then thats great. if they do get married then the movie would probably end on a happy note.

MJ will not die...they couldn't kill her in the comics, they won't be able to in the films.

Unless Rothman, Ratner, and Simon Kinberg gain control of the franchise. Then all hell would break loose.

It was not really a happy ending. The final shot of the film is of MJ looking extremely apprehensive and worried about Peter going off to do his thing. Raimi has done a good job not swaying too far toward happy or depressing by having some of both each time. In the first he walked away from MJ but embraced his new identity. In the second, he and MJ get together but it's clear that she'll spend much of her time worrying about him. I expect to find more of the same here, and would be extremely surprised if we were left with no loose ends at all and just a good old happy ending.

yeah, besides we need her in the films. she is one of the main people and is very important.

Well the ending won't be happy because
Harry dies, Peter was almost torn apart, he and MJ will be strained and whatever happens to Sandman either death or jail will not be happy for his family
but it may be bittersweet as I expect it to end with some form of happiness in the form of engagement or even na hasty marriage between Pete and MJ. I could see them having a quiet and small wedding on a hill after coming together at Harry's funeral or something with no dialogue (or just him knealing and they cry as she accepts). Something along that line anyway.

i am sure the movie will have sort of a happy ending. it will not be too happy though.

The movie will have some sort of happy thing or good thing in the end, because it's the last of the trilogy and it's still mainly marketed towards kids.

it might not be the last movie though, that is why i said that the end of the movie should not be too happy, but should still be happy.
