He's The Secret Weapon... David Ayer IS the Director and Script Writer

Pena isn't in talks for a Suicide Squad role.

So far, just Smith, Robbie, and Hardy.

But he's Ayers' boy, he puts him in everything. That's what he was getting at.

My guess for Will Smith: Rick Flag. I want the standard line-up for the rest. Gosling as Lawton, Robbie as Quinn, Hardy as Harkness.

Maybe Smith will be Black Spider? He was one of my favorites in the recent animated flick.

Of the actors I'd like to see them like this

Tom Hardy-Deadshot
Will Smith-Black Spider or Bronze Tiger (if BT he could see a possible spin off which would make him agree to the film)
Rosario Dawson-Vixen
Ryan Gosling-Nemesis
Margot Robbie-Nightshade or Harley possibly even Plastique.

The thing is that the most "stable" members are either too inherently good to be broken (like Nightshade after her massacre crisis in the original series) or too narcissistic and apathetic by their inherent nature like Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Bronze Tiger to properly do the job.

Harley understands the ins and outs of psychosis better than any other member. This is why like The Joker she is a brilliant liar and manipulator and she is the only one who "understands" him. She could shift into any personality necessary and still be willing to do whatever is necessary to keep that personality in check.

In that sense I understand why they put her in the Suicide Squad in the New 52. Of course Adam Glass didn't do enough to showcase any of that to make me care to even check out issue 3 but that's a whole other story.

Perhaps. I still feel Waller's dumb for getting someone like Harley to work for her. Surely, problems will follow that goofy chick.

With all that, I still think it'd be interesting to see Harley with Joker first. At least to explore that odd relationship and the aspects of abuse within it. She's one of the few characters I feel her origin is actually interesting to see and explore.

If this is a one-off for Gosling, I could see him at least humoring it.

Having that extra money for his new baby would be nice too.

Isn't Pena now part of the MCU due to Ant-Man? Or did he leave that project?

Hardy is Deathstroke, Smith is Manta, Robbie as Harley.

Let's look at the New 52 Suicide

I find it hard to believe Smith is Manta because it would probably be less likely to get him back for Aquaman.

the New 52 squad has changed, and had several incarnations.

You can expect to see Deadshot, and Boomerang, and possibly Harley, but I think all bets are off on the rest of the eventual core team.

Y'know, there's some pretty sneaky ways they could expand the universe while still focusing on the Suicide Squad crew:

Harley's "boyfriend" would pretty much just be built up through her stories, interactions with the crew members, and overall broken nature. Imagine if the audience is entertained by her quirky craziness, and then at some point we get a scene where we get to see just how horrifyingly damaged she is and suddenly we have trouble laughing at her anymore and just know that when "Mr. J" shows up, run.

They could even have her reveal some of his previous crimes, especially if they're responsible for an empty suit in the Bat-cave...

Captain Boomerang/any other Flash villains could have a neat way of introducing him. Imagine if Digger/Snart keeps insisting some lightning ball kicked their ass and nobody believes him...but he has suspiciously fast reflexes, as though he's constantly practicing a quick draw.

Manta could be the same thing for Aquaman.

Deadshot/Deathstroke, as the professional badguy, can have the ties to Luthor and any other major mover and shaker.

Hopefully she's not wearing that godawful New 52 costume. The Arkham one is a bit better, but still not all that great.

I think Will Smith is being looked at for Rick Flag.

Tom Hardy...... Deadshot (or Boomerang).

Gosling...... Boomerang (Deadshot).

And Margot Robbie........ Harley Quinn.

I know the rumors insist that Vixen is the female main character (along with Deadshot and Boomerang), but it seems that they arent going that route with Robbie in talks.

I was kind of thinking Gosling and Hardy were up for the same role(Deadshot). I'm actually kind of susprised that Hardy would sign up for this after playing another DC comics character so recently. It'll be a fun movie I believe.

Will Smith for Manta is already perfect.

I don't think they'll use Manta before the Aquaman film.

They could though. It would be an interesting set up if Manta was actively interfering with human affairs prior to the events of Aquaman.

Though I too think Harly will be involved, what if WB is going to change up the roster a little to include some more well-known characters (to the GA)... What if Margot Robbie is actually up for Catwoman? :wow:

Im gonna lose my mind if Hardy is Deathstroke, Gosling is Deadshot, Will Smith is Black Manta, and Robbie is Harley Quinn. Perfect casting.

As would I.

I don't think they'll use Manta before the Aquaman film.

It would serve as a great way to build up interest in the Aquaman film.

That would actually be pretty epic for WB to do. Imagine a few years build-up before the 'return of the Joker'. That would also give them more time to distance the character from Heath for the GA.

Will Smith- Rick Flag
Ryan Gosling- Deadshot
Margot Robie- Harley Quinn

No idea who Hardy would be a good fit for but these three would be perfect
