Yeah, but I don't see how the more stable members of the group wouldn't be able to pull something like that off too.

Nobody outside of comic fans really knows these guys, but they'll need GOTG style casting to actually garner interest.

Harley Quinn, is pretty big. Definitely the biggest draw for SS. She is one of the most important female characters in DC.

Tom Hardy as Deadshot is a huge fan cast of that can actually come true???! If Tom Hardy can be cast as Deadshot, Will Smith as either Black Manta or Bronze Tiger, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.....

Still not sure about Gosling, but if he was cast that would the icing the cake.

Unless Gosling and Hardy were being courted for the same role, I would imagine one of them is Deadshot and the other is Captain Boomerang.

Have a hard time thinking either of them would be jumping at the chance for the second one .

The thing is that the most "stable" members are either too inherently good to be broken (like Nightshade after her massacre crisis in the original series) or too narcissistic and apathetic by their inherent nature like Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Bronze Tiger to properly do the job.

Harley understands the ins and outs of psychosis better than any other member. This is why like The Joker she is a brilliant liar and manipulator and she is the only one who "understands" him. She could shift into any personality necessary and still be willing to do whatever is necessary to keep that personality in check.

In that sense I understand why they put her in the Suicide Squad in the New 52. Of course Adam Glass didn't do enough to showcase any of that to make me care to even check out issue 3 but that's a whole other story.

Digger Harkness is the ****. He's probably the wittiest and most electric of the entire Squad. Like the Trevor of GTA 5 of that crew.

UPDATE, 4:50 PM: The Wolf Of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie is also looking likely for Suicide Squad. It looked like she was going to star in Ghost In The Shell for DreamWorks, but those talks fizzled. I’ve heard DreamWorks has instead made a $10M offer to Scarlett Johansson, whose action price has risen to that level after Lucy and her work as Black Widow. Robbie, who stars alongside Smith in the upcoming Focus, should slip nicely into the Warner Bros film.
