He's The Secret Weapon... David Ayer IS the Director and Script Writer

But seriously I think David Ayer is a much better director than Zack Snyder. And that minus Joker tats the Suicide Squad movie has been getting good publicity from fans.

I can't believe it but Trailer 2 managed to sell me on Jai Courtney.

Just like how Fury sold us on Shia LeBeouf. :sly:

But i seriously wholeheartedly agree with you, Ayer's a far better director than Snyder and has a stronger chance in getting the first good rated DC film since 2012.

From the moment I heard Ayer was doing SS, I was super happy. End of Watch especially is one of my favorite movies. just a very entertaining story. Fury was also very well written and I think if you can bring someone like Ayer into this comic book world...he can really do some magic.

Ayer's a FAR better director than Snyder. And I like Snyder, kind of. Admittedly I liked him better before BvS.

I really want something in SS akin to the table scene in Fury.

Michael Pena and Jake Gyllenhaal cracking jokes in their police car even among the terrible things that where happening in their jobs made me laugh so hard.

You were the chosen one!

*zack snyder looks into the sunset with a slight smirk on his face and puts on his sunglasses*

ToTo Africa playing in the back ground.

Used to think Snyder was the problem at WB. But he's just a symptom of a bigger problem. Seems to me WB really wanted this movie to come out in 2016 and rushed a script out. The edited/reshoot it to heck after BVS. Now we got Geoff Johns in the captains chair, here's to hope that he can end the poor relations between Directors/WB/product.

I hate you past Jokes. :o

Ayer made some legitly well recieved movies, and unlike Snyder made them fairly recently with Fury and End of Watch.

Sad to see this will be on of his lows with the likes of Sabotage and Street Kings.

Ayers drank his own cool aid, and made it worse by insulting marvel in such a public way. He's gonna be hearing about this for a while.

Jesus ******' Christ some you guys just can't let it go.

I think Suicide Squad does have some good writing. I think the middle section is really where the film shines the most. I think a lot of the dialogue is well written and there's some good exchanges.

It's really the first and final acts where the movie is more of a mess.

:funny:

It's really pretty funny how hurt some seem to be about it.

Reading comments from the last 4-5 pages (months ago), it makes me sad to see how excited and happy everyone seemed to be about the directing choice...

Ayer is one of my favorite directors working today. It only makes the whole situation worse.

Yea, rushing important things like scripts will not help WB catch up with Marvel, quite the opposite. Quality over quantity. These days you have so many superhero stuff you should just concentrate on making lesser amount of films but with high quality.
Ayer had to write the whole SS script will all those characters in 6 weeks! WTF!

I definitely think WB have been more of the problem here than Ayer. I have seen 2 WB movies this year and the editing was awful in both of them (BvS TC and Tarzan). It's seems to be the case for SS as well.

Ayer had full control over the likes of Fury and EOW, and they are both very good movies. WB need to trust in their directors more and give them the time to make a quality movie.

Ayer is a good director. He also directed Sabotage. So yeah, if it is a bad, I think he gets at least a bit of the blame.

Didn't he have troubles behind the scenes on that movie as well though? I remember there being rumours at the time.

It seems he makes a better movie if he is left to his own devices. WB need to lay off their directors. They meddled with Tarzan also so it's not just CBMs

I read Pitt and Ayer fought over some stuff when it comes to Fury, it was in those famous Sony leaks

Ayer basically admitted to making Sabotage for a quick buck. Also, he had to work with a script written by our friend Skip Woods of Wolverine Origins and Die Hard 5 fame.

I actually didn't mind Sabotage. It was kinda fun to watch.

Oh yea, Skip. I remember looking up Sabotage before I watched it on Netflix, and I noticed Skip's name. I realized THAT was the main reason it was received so poorly lol. So I went in with much lower expectations.
