Anyone else watch it? I know there is a Stephen Hawking thread in the main community, but I was curious if anyone has caught this series on The History Channel. It's pretty interesting but I am not sure how accurate. It's always hard to take one source as all the info that one needs to examine to make a complete judgment but it does have some interesting info none the less.

They talk about the Great Pyramid a lot as well as other structures but they got something pretty wrong and it's pretty disappointing that THC would overlook it. It is stated from the ancient writings that TGPOG took 22 years to build.

According to the program, with all of the stones if it only took 22 years to build, each stone would have to have been laid every 9 seconds. But that would mean that TGPOG would have around 70 million stones.

Most sources state it has roughly 2.3 million stones, which means one stone every five minutes. This seems much more acceptable and realistic.

But much of what they talk about throughout the rest of the series is pretty interesting such as the incredibly accurate details cut into some of the hardest stones or how they great pyramids are lined up incredibly accurate with the stars the correlation of all nine planets long before their discoveries or ancient maps that have detailed topography of the continents long before overhead ariel views were available through flight to get such accurate maps.

I've found some logical explanations for some of the info provided but it still presents for an interesting series and look.

Anyone else watching and enjoying....or bothered by the show?

I honestly avoid shows like this on History Channel, something like this belongs on Discovery, not on the history Channel (which really needs to have more historical based programming and get away from Reality shows & stuff about Aliens. Hell, even Ghost Stories are more "history based".

Well, the show is about "evidence" of aliens coming to earth in the past, and the cases are built from historical accounts, artifacts, sculptures, buildings, etc. The show delves into the history of our world, and mixes in a ET connection, so yeah, I think it fits within The History channel.
