Hitman: Absolution

IGN gave it a 9.0 with the only major drawback being an imperfect disguise system.

I think at this point I've decided that this is a game I'm more likely to buy than rent. I definitely want to check it out, the only question is when.

Sounds incredible. Disappointed to hear that u can't choose ur weapons prior to each level but at least u can do that in Contracts mode. Man, can't believe the wait is almost over.

After reading this Review I want to Punch this guy until i Break all the teeth in his mouth

That's a pretty stupid thing to say. That review was pretty good. Wanna read a horrible review, go read the pcgamer review.

An hour long first impressions,

Man thats incredible. Never been more excited for a game, ever. Its been a loooong time coming but looks to be completely worth the wait. Contracts mode is gonna be a blast.

On a side note, anyone else kinda sad to see the striped red tie and striped white shirt give way to just a solid tie and shirt?

Definitely; I noticed it right away. Still, 47 looks sexy as ever.

Oh yea im not really complaining, i just found it interesting. I have a funny feeling a lot of ppl didnt even realize his tie and shirt had a pattern to it, same with the fact that his gloves are also a different style. Again, tho, like u said, 47 has never looked better.

Every time I see the animation where he spins around and it freezes into the box art I get giddy.

Obviously the embargo has been lifted and reviews are starting to pour in. For the most part they seem to be solid with a few dipping below 7. Heres a handful iv found:

7.5/10 - VentureBeat

9/10 - OXM

8/10 - EGM

7/10 - EDGE

4/5 - Joystiq

8/10 - Forbes

6.9/10 - GameTrailers.

7/10 - Eurogamer

9/10 - IGN

8.8/10 - Sticky Trigger

8/10 - GodisaGeek

4.5/5 - GamesRadar

8.5/10 - Game Front

9/10 - OPM

Kotaku gives it solid review as well. Claims they beat the games SP mode in 21 hours.

It appears that the low marks come from some odd AI behavior and from the fact the game isnt presented in the same way that the past games were. The Forbes review docked the game 2 points(from 10/10 to 8/10, based on the Saints characters). The game is a little more cohesive story wise but at the cost of each level feeling like a true open sandbox. Those levels ARE still there but they arent as abundant as they were in Blood Money. There is clearly a designated narrative that, unfortunately sacrifices some of the sand box style levels Hitman fans have come to know.

That kinda sucks but I still have high hopes. Hopefully it doesn't suffer from too much linearity like the most recent Splinter Cell.

I know IGN's writers aren't the best around, but the guy gave it 9/10. You literally can't hope for much better than that. Even if he gave it a low score, unless the guy some how insulted your mother there's really no need for any violent outbursts.

no it was not But I'm sorry I did not explain my with the review

this is my problem

It cares not for the overly delicate, their minds rendered dull and flabby after years of being prodded through corridors blasting anything that breathes

I do not appreciate being called delicate With a dull and flabby mind Because I enjoy playing modern shooters

no his review was not good

a good review Must focus talking about the game he is reviewing not insulting another type of games and it fans

It's not a personal attack at you and even if it was, talking about breaking all of someone's teeth is stupid. You're never going to do it, and it's a gross overreaction. The writer wasn't out to insult people, he was exaggerating to make his point -the majority of modern gamers are used to more linear shooters as opposed to games like Hitman where you have more freedom.

Seriously, stop being so sensitive, you'll have a lot more fun. Not everyone's out to get you.

I want to apologize to everyone here

When i do a mistake I'm not the type who insists on his mistake and rejects the opinions of others

Yea im disappointed to hear about the lack of equipment options prior to each mission, but then at the same time i wanted this game to change things up a hair. If i wanted Blood Money 2.0, id just play Blood Money(its still a great game). Im anxiously awaiting the "47 on the run" gameplay as its something new. Something we have never seen 47 faced with. Having to proceed through a level or eliminate a target while people are hunting you seems to be really exciting. I think its gonna test the stealth ability in every one that plays it. If getting a better story(compared to previous games) means we have to give up a little of that freedom that we had in past games, then im fine with that. Ill always value the character of 47 over the game he actually inhabits.

He is absolutely right though. The games that tend to fly off the store shelves(Halo, Call of Duty etc) tend to be extremely narrow focused games. They have spawned a generation of people who only want that type of experience. When a game like CoD releases to 400 million in sales, that gameplay then trickles down into other games. We are seeing more and more games follow the Call of Duty path hoping they will capture some of that crowd.

He isnt saying all gamers that enjoy shooters are "flabby minded" more in that those types of games havent completely influenced this one and that those players looking only to blow people away wont find that here.

The reviewer is absolutely calling it like it is. Props to him.

I agree. Also, from the two-three game play videos I've seen, there seems to be a huge amount of freedom anyway. The reviews are encouraging, I'm sure it's going to be a great game.

I don't like that I'm seeing somewhat mixed reviews for the game.. nor do I like how a few of the reviews I've read seem to indicate that there is more story telling than game playing.

I have no clue what the storyline or plot of any of the Hitman games are, I just want to be told who my target is, give me a weapon & stick me in a large free roam level with the possibility to kill my target 20 different ways.

I'll still be picking it up, but I hope it hasn't strayed from it's roots & tried to become something like Max Payne or something like that.

It hasnt been. However if you are expecting Blood Money 2.0, you will be extremely disappointed. Some of the elements that made the past games so good are still intact(large levels, crazy executions, multiple paths), but at the same time you wont just be placed into 12 or so levels, told who your mark is and then sent off to do the job. You wont be choosing your weapon load out as 47 has removed himself from the Agency and is working without its resources.

TBH I don't even mind not being able to chose your loadout.

It doesn't bother me either. There's a ton of various items in each level to improvise with. I'm sure whatever 47 is packing will be sufficient, and anything on top of that will just be hilarious fun.

This is not Medal of Duty: Modern Warfighter Ops. Impatient action junkies need not apply.

Bwahahahaha!

Can't wait for Tuesday.
