What do you think of the game so far? I'm going to get it regardless, but I know you've been looking forward to it for a while.

Oh I love it. I think it's absolutely incredible(up to the 3rd level). The early story is really intriguing and 47 is finally being given the characterization he deserves.

Jeez this game is unforgiving. I almost find it slightly easier on Purist mode as on the other difficulties i tend rely too much on the instinct and mini map. Either way, this game is kicking my ass unlike any Hitman prior.

Agreed and it took me just as long on the library. I love the villain but I agree with Game Informer the writing for the bad guys is a bit bad. They went too far to try and make them look bad.

Thats how all the villains are in this series. There is no fine line, they're all nasty people. Doesnt make them the most compelling people but makes them sooo much more fun to execute.

I wasn't going to get this until Christmas, but my girlfriend bought it for me today so...

Lol awesome man.

No way I could of waited until Christmas. In fact it's the reason I have 2 copies of this game at the moment

I'm getting this game soon, but it looks like I may have the choice of the standard edition or the professional edition (which costs extra). The standard seems to come with the tech suit and Bartoli pisol and the professional edition comes with the gun pack.

Can anyone tell me what the DLC is like to play with and if it's worth it? I'm not fussed about the art book and other stuff that comes with the professional edition, but if the DLC is worth it then I expect I'll probably pay roughly the same in total if I buy it separately.

God this game has so many stereotypes :p

So they haven't learned to lay off those then? Well at least they can't get away with the wall to wall Fu Manchu stereotypes and Matrix rejects that lined the original Hitman game's Hong Kong levels. lol

You're better off just getting the standard edition considering ur only interested in the dlc it comes with. It's just a few guns and none em seem to be anything special

Haha nope and theyve added a bunch of unnessary gay jokes and misogynistic images. Which I absolutely love. Good to see IO isn't afraid of offending.

Glad you liked it Pat. I would have been personally disappointed for you if it hadn't turned out as good as you wanted. :woot:

Seriously, if Pat hadn't of liked the game I might not have even bothered with it.

Haha man I would of given up gaming. This is as Hitman to its core as u can get. It might not be "classic" Hitman(at least in a majority of levels) but the elements that made those games so great are completely intact here. 47 has never been portrayed better, I won't spoil it, but there's a scene where 47 is kind of casually talking to his mark and it's just a perfectly delivered scene. Thank god IO came to their senses and brought Bateson back

How is the hard and normal difficultly?

Hard is brutal. Normal is a little easier as hints are available to you, but even then, it's still a tough title. Patience is key if ya wanna do it right. Which I'll admit I haven't always done. At least 2 diff levels I just blasted my way through. Completely unHitman like, but still a lot of fun

I went with Normal, which is very unusual for me because I usually go for Easy -so far it's been pleasantly challenging.

Out of the 2 and half levels I've done, only one was really easy and took me probably under five minutes. I got away clean too, so that was quite something. The first level (seriously...) gave me a lot of trouble nearer the end. The Hints kept telling me about one thing, but I couldn't figure out what the heck I was supposed to do, so I just came up with my own solution. Of course, coming up with your own solutions is the most fun part of the series.

Great stuff. I look forward to it although I'm going to play through Blood Money fully before I get onto it. Maybe 6 or so months away.

If anyone was able to get through the orphanage without blowing everyone away, please let me know how ya did it!

I did it Pat but it was not easy. But on syringe and a lot of restarting from checkpoints and I got there. I also managed to stealth take out Wade to top it all off :P

Indeed! I love when game companies do that and make use of their rights, instead of backing for extreme opinions.

I slaughtered everyone with a katana in china town!

Yeah, I looked up the various DLC to check and nothing looks particularly special. Some do look fun, but nothing worth buying. In my opinion they should have been easter eggs in levels rather than some random DLC.

Plus I'm not to fond of the Adam Jenson outfit. The robotic arms look somewhat skinny to me. Though the promo pic for the outfit makes 47 look like Gunther from the original Deus Ex.

I started this tonight on Hard and holy crap I might have to switch it to Normal for my first time through. It's not that the bad guys are tough or anything but moreso being dropped into a level with no kind of hints or whatever as to how you can go about the kills.

I end up just wandering around with no idea where stuff is lol. Loving playing 47 again though.
