So IF Harry is GG2 or HG, do you think Raimi will use this movie to correct the horrible mistake of a Goblin in SM1, or will we get more of the same crap? Doc Ock was spot on, and Sandman seems to be on the right path, but what about our Goblin friend...?

I agree that Raimi prefers the originals and will probably have Harry become the Green Goblin, but it was just the way you worded it.


just the word comics means all comics and universes including the ultimate one in which Harry did indeed become the Hobgoblin due to the Oz serum/formula turning him into an orange coloured Goblin instead of green like his dad.

But again I agree that Raimi will stick to the original comics and have Harry follow in his father's footsteps and become GG2

But I am only 21 and never buy any, I read the originals online. They were far superior than anything else that has come out.

I think Harry will take the formula because he has no idea what it did to his dad. He will suffer the same fate as Norman but Norman's will be telling Harry what to do because he has gone crazy.

It could be better actually if Harry becomes the GG,because good chances are his character dies in this movie,and I want to see the Hobgoblin as a member of the Sinister Six in S-M6.

I don't see what the problem is with the Ultimate. Sure we were first introduced to Spidey and the rest in the original comics but the Ultimate series is bringing a whole new generation of readers to Marvel.

I myself prefer the original ones but i must admit I also enjoy reading the Ultimate series, why limit myself to just one?

Thanks. Some ppl complain on here that we don't give Ultimate a shot but they are so crazy over the Ultimate because that is what they grew up with. They don't give the originals (the best) a chance because they probably haven't read half of them or know anything about them. The originals are and will always be the best. Some aspects of the Ultimate are great yes, but they do not compare to the originals.

Original - Great and no doubt hands down the best

Ultimate - Great in it own right and makes a nice little change from reading the old comics over and over and over.

I am only a fan of the Ultimate Venom/symbiote origin. That is about it.

I prefer the symbiote being an alien intelligence with its own agenda and not just a suit originally designed to cure cancer and whatever which needs to feed.

That was from the 90s cartoon. The original symbiote origin was actually from a machine that created indestructible superhero costumes. It was during the Secret Wars but that is when the symbiote first appeared. The Ultimate just makes it seem more science relatable. That is the exact equation Raimi has been using. Trying to relate the characters to a scientificly plausible origin.

I will confess that I have read very little of the Ultimate line, Bagley's art kept me away from Spider-Man, but I did like them linking the FF's origin with the Negative Zone, of course I liked Jim Lee linking it in with the coming of Galactus.

Yeah I liked the cartoons origin as well cuz it fit teh small time slot of 20 mins the cartoon had.

They will deff. not have it come from a costume machine, I can assure you that. I think the Jameson space thing is to irrelevant and off the path Raimi has been working.

No, you made it sound like I said that Raimi will NEVER use anything besides the original. The costume machine was good but not good for his scientific approach. Goblin, and Doc Ock both had scientific origins in the comics and movies. The symbiote will be scientifically explained...a costume machine doesn't do that. In a previous post I said the only thing I like from the Ultimate is the Venom/symbiote origin which is excellent. Raimi will either use that or bring in Conners, Oscorp, or Quest somehow and create his own.

He does prefer the originals. Raimi himself has said that. But he will have to go out because he will not use a costume machine in SM3. That is also why we will see GG2 and not Hobgoblin to get back on topic. If we see HobGoblin it will be copycat or someone hired. There were quite a few Hobgoblins and GreenGoblins.
