Homeland producers re-team for FX's "Tyrant"

This ep was more of a filler, other that the final scene; the whole thing with Jamal's son seemed to go no where. It seems like next week, **** starts hitting the fan…

Last night's episode was really good. This season has been a huge improvement over the first (although I liked the first one too).

Yes, i like last nights ep too; except the stuff with Molly and Sammy.

Can't wait to see the look on Jamal's face when he see's his brother has been alive this whole time.

Great episode last night, they've taken some twist and turns I wouldn't have expected in the start of the season.

Man, Bassam is killing it with that beard and shemagh!

A great episode. I cant wait to see that *****e leader of the Caliphate get his. Oh and his little ***** groupie too! That smug brat needs to be knocked on her ass.

Loving where this conflict against a common foe is heading. Bassam leading a resistance on the frontline. Jamal doing his part from afar. I can't help but picture a reunion scene similar to Gladiator when Maximus reveals himself.

Is that a love triangle I see coming with the bastard son, his brother and his wife? Crap!

Is this season 10 episodes like the first one? It's been going pretty fast!

Great ep. I think Sammy's being set up to have his inheritance taken….

Did the girl in the final scene call Bassam by name? I know she made it sound like she was referring to someone else, but if memory serves me correct, wasn't she the same girl whose family was killed when the market was gassed and also knows Jamal's wife, therefore knows who Bassam really is…?

Also, i can't see how the group they are fighting against would not know that the son who's working on the inside is not somehow involved in the escape. He clearly was the one who told all the prison guards to leave their posts..

Great ep regardless….and good riddance uncle.

Yep, same girl. It looked like she knew him and called him out. Then she started talking about Bassam in past tense. She was just drawing a comparison between the two figures, Bassam & Khalid. Maybe she's playing along, maybe she isn't. Who knows. She must have joined the staff late and had little close interaction with Bassam and his family to not be able to recognize him. Then again, Bassam's got a burnt up face from wandering in the sun too long and a thicker beard to hide behind. And of course there's the "execution."

Yep, it shouldn't take the group too long to figure out that there's a traitor in their ranks. He better hope all the guards he ordered out were killed. Dead men don't talk. Bassam should have shot him to help with his cover.

I liked the past ep. The killing was bad, but i guess Bassam had no choice. How does he tell his friend…? We know where Sammy is eventually going to end up, and seeing…and i enjoyed the beginning scene with him and Uncle Jamal.

I hope this show gets a third season. There really is nothing quite like it on tv right now…..

Great ep.

I loved the scene where Sammy first see's his Dad.

Weird they haven't mentioned the daughter much.

Man, this show is getting so good. I agree though, we need to see more of the daughter. I think she's been in two episodes maybe?

Really loving Badassam the Rebel Leader.

This has been the best show all summer and I couldn't imagine saying that a year ago.

I can already see hints of his "tyrant" behavior...killing that girl 2 episodes ago and then willing to let that guy die in the explosion last episode. Sure, he feels guilt and remorse now but soon it will be easier for him to make those kinds of decisions. He's going to end up being the "Heisenberg" of the Middle East. I wouldn't be surprised if the show ends with American forces invading and capturing Barry much like how they did other dictators.

Killing the girl was unavoidable
She shot him in the leg and was trying to stop him when he had a knife in his hand. Anyone with an ounce of a will to live would have stabbed her too.

Setting off the explosives was unavoidable too. This is war. He couldnt wait. He had to prove to Jamal's son that he was who he said he was. Thankfully the two brothers survived but even if they hadnt I would still say it was the right thing to do.

Well that's how it starts. It was "unavoidable". Soon he'll be making decisions to kill people just because they're in his way.

Judging by the previews, dying in the explosion might have been a better deal, than what's in store for the two brother next week.. :(

Yeah. That's how it starts. The rage. The feeling of powerlessness. It makes good men... Dictators.

Jamal has lost his damn mind.

Kasim should have killed Rashid before he killed himself. Or better yet he should have waited until he was around the *****ebag who is leading the caliphate and killed him. Randomly blowing his own head off didn't help a damn thing.

the fight scene was intense. didn't expect that to happen to sammy

Ive been expecting Sammy to get get captured by the caliphate ever since they went back to that country. I was sure it was happening last night, but I guess not.

Question: do yall think Jamal will die by the end of the season? His instability and weakening mental state makes me think that someone very close to him will kill him this season. Hell, he is giving Barry a perfect opportunity to throw another coup and step out into the open.

And something is going to happen to whats-her-name too. The way Jamal traced a heart around her at the window when he was watching her and his son was creepy. He's either going to try to rape her again or do something equally horrible.

Liked the ep, but was it just me or did the scene where Molly was talking to Bassam on the phone, feel odd..as though she wasn't actually talking to him originally in the script (kinda just venting to a empty phone) and then for whatever reason the producers decided to throw in a shot of Bassam on the other end, at the last minute?…it felt really disjointed to me.

And i was really disappointed that they decided to kill a semi -important character off screen, and reveal so with a line about "must have been hard watching your brother die".
This is a drama. Show us the scene. Show us the conlict between the two brothers. Then the other one just off himself in the middle of battle….? The whole way they handle both deaths came off like they didn't really know how to get rid of these two….weird…other than that i liked the ep.

Agreed about both things. I thought Molly was leaving Bassam a voicemail. And the two brothers were basically plot devices and had run their course so the writers offed them very lazily.

I hope Sammy makes it out alive. That whole sequence with him and that girl fleeing the Caliphate was genuinely scary.

As for Jamal, yeah, he's really losing his sh**. I hope that neither of his sons get killed, because I've really grown to like them both. Not sure about the whole "heart tracing" thing. I took that as Jamal's increasing paranoia leading him to believe that Rami and Nusrat have something going on. But yeah, it might also be an indication that Jamal is going to hurt her again.
