New Line Dates ‘Horrible Bosses 2′ for Thanksgiving Day Weekend 2014

With the returning cast signed up and a new director on board, New Line has slated “Horrible Bosses 2″ for Nov. 26, 2014.

Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day are set to return with Sean Anders on board to direct.

Brett Ratner and Jay Stern are producing with John Cheng and John Rickard are exec producing.

The only other film set to bow that weekend is the Fox animated film “Home.” Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” does open on Nov. 21 and should have a big impact on the Thanksgiving weekend, but since “Horrible Bosses 2″ will appeal more to younger men, it should serve as good counterprograming for the Thanksgiving Day weekend.

The first “Horrible Bosses” overperformed at the box office, bringing in more than $200 million worldwide.

Are Chris Pine & Christoph Waltz Horrible Bosses?

Acccording to Deadline, Waltz likely won't be available for the part, but Pine might still be up for it. Horrible Bosses stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day are set to return for the sequel, which has Sean Anders directing from a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

Horrible Bosses is targeting a 2014 Thanksgiving weekend release.

I wonder if Aniston will return, since she was the only boss that didn't end up dead or in jail. Jamie Foxx should come back too.

She should. It was so out of her normal role and she was so good at it that I was surprised. And she interacted with Charlie so well that it'd be funny to see that again.

Tired of these lame brand comedies, with these unfunny 40 somethings starring in them.

Horrible Bosses was one of the funniest movies to come out in a long long time.

Horrible Bosses sucked. I don't want a sequel. Should we start ;petition?

I don't think it requires a sequel. Just like Hangover, it's fine as a standalone movie. Though should they happen to make a proper sequel that doesn't just copy the first one, then great. I'll watch it.

I just don't want this to turn into another Hangover 2.

This movie was truly horrible. As a Jamie Foxx fan I tried to stay through it for him. As soon as he came in I personally just couldn't stand it anymore. Terrible. Ioan Gruffield or whatever his name I loved him in King Arthur, but that scene was the corniest, cheesefest, if I've ever seen it. It got 1 out of 5 for me.

I just learned this startling fact: No one makes you watch movies you don't want to*. In fact if you don't want to you don't have to watch sequels to movies you've seen either. :wow:

*(except in school of course but the trade off is sometimes worth it)

I didn't even notice he got banned.

Anyhow there are movies I don't like or sequels I don't want to see but I try to avoid trashing on movies I've yet to see and those not even in production yet.

If I don't want to see a sequel to something I won't see it. Not sure what the point in trying to prevent one being made is though. Will the existence of a sequel somehow negate the previous movies?

Exactly. I didn't care for Hangover 2 and haven't seen Hangover 3, but I still think the first one is one of the funniest movies ever.

Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz would be hilarious bosses IMO.

The first film was a lot of fun and like most I hope Aniston returns. :D

She is confirmed to return along with Christoph Waltz.

To recap it, Jennifer Aniston, Christoph Waltz, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine, and Kevin Spacey will be starring in it.
