Hostel:Part II

The first film didn't know what it wanted to be. First it was a porno, then a horror movie, then a gore movie, then an action/hero movie:down:

Roth Squeaks By MPAA

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hostel: Part II passed MPAA standards and achieved an R rating for the usual: torture, bloodshed and other nasty stuff. Our sources tell us this was a close one for Roth, but at the end of the day, he skirted the dreaded NC-17 and is now in the home stretch. The film comes out June 8th.

Hostel II's 5min before Bug May. 14, 2007

VERY interesting marketing ploy, for both HOSTEL II and BUG, via Lions Gate: we've got the scoop that the first five minutes of HOSTEL PART II shall appear before William Friedkin’s BUG. Now, as far as I know, this is an unprecedented move in relation to leaking a clip for a flick.. I’m guessing, according to Lions Gate’s thinking, this helps BUG more than it helps HOSTEL II.

BUG is already receiving what appears to be a slightly skewed “horror movie” campaign from Lion’s Gate, when it is more of a psychological drama - at least from what I’ve heard. Then again, I haven’t seen it, and it very well could be one of the creepiest flicks to come out in years. Hell, any movie about imaginary (?) bugs that crawl under your skin gets my vote... For what you ask? Um.. Best... Ashley Judd movie with “Bug” in the title? Yeah, that works.

Hostel: Part II Victim of Piracy

Source: Ryan Rotten, Movieweb
May 27, 2007

Despite Hollywood's ongoing preventative measures to deter movie piracy abroad and here in the States, Movieweb writer B. Alan Orange has admitted to purchasing a copy of Eli Roth's Hostel: Part II for a mere five buckaroos two weeks prior to the film's release date.

The sequel was spotted being pimped by a street vendor in Santee Alley, Los Angeles' garment district.

Orange validates the bootleg's existence by elaborating the print is "studio quality" with visual imprints that read "AK-Bigel Entertainment Property of Screen Gems" and Lionsgate employee "S. Mooridian." How the film was leaked is unknown; we presume an investigation will get underway the minute Lionsgate staffers return from the Memorial Day break.

Hostel: Part II hits theaters on June 8th.

So are we basically getting the equivalent of the original just with females? No new development? Just clarify for me. I'm waaaay behind on this sequel.
