I'm guessing, if he is a ruler of some kind in Latveria he may have people there who are loyal to him and aid him in some way. Between healing and plotting his revenge on the FF he hears of the SS and thus begins his plot to steal the Power Cosmic from the SS. Mwahahahahaha!

Does anyone even know what Latveria looks like? Who lives there? I mean in the movie. If he really is the "ruler" it must become public knowledge pretty soon!? Wouldn't the F4 stop him immidiatly? Or do I just put too much thinking into this and they live in a fantasy world where anything goes?

My guess, from what we know so far, is that he comes back from some underground lair and strikes when no one's expecting it. Hence stealing the Surfer's power.

^He has diplomatic immunity in his home country. He could've done whatever he wanted to over here, but once he's back home, they can't touch him unless he's off its soil.

As unpopular as the decision to bring back Dr. Doom in human form may be- there is an obscure case of the Silver Surfer using the Power Cosmic to transforming a creature from metal to flesh.

It's complicated, but I'll try to sum up...
In his first ever solo story, "The Peerless Power of the Silver Surfer" from FF Annual #5, SS finds Quasimodo, the sentient computer after psychically sensing his anguish after being abandoned by the Mad Thinker.
Using his power to transform Quasimodo from an immobile computer into a mobile human-like form, SS grants Q's wish, but his new appearance is ugly (so SS can give life to computers but not a pretty face ).
This leads Q to seek revenge on SS, but thanks to his fancy surfboard- he splits, leaving Q to his misery.



OK, so I say that they will use this as a model and replace Q with Doom in FF2 so Julian can have some face time. My theory: he'll put on the mask only long enough to satisfy minimum requirements as in the last film (thanks Hollywood!)

So whaddya think?

I would rather see a H.E.R.B.I.E. appearance that suffer through seeing Leonard again. He came across on screen like a pedophile or like Norman Bates!
