How have you been like Superman this week?

Hi all,

Since the Superman movie was about trying hard to do good I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we talked about good deeds we’ve done. It can be big or small, even something like going to keep your nan company or getting your pets neutered so they don’t get in trouble.

My one? I organised a blood donation drive at work

I do Superman character work for children at community events (Dave and Busters, street themed tent events, private birthday parties) and charity events (volunteer work for sick children). My next few community events as Superman will be a cooperate event at Dave and Busters this Friday (play games with Superman from 6p-8p!) and maybe Saturday at a street community event with other scheduled characters. It is extra busy for schedulers to book Superman for obvious reasons and I will be in the DCU suit. Will get no sleep, but got to fight the good fight. The last event of July will be the 27th with my charity volunteer organization.

Helped an old lady cross the road this week.

Although it wasn't this week as I've been off work. I work at a shopping centre as a guard. I visit a certain coffee shop every day to get my fix and there's a worker there named Helen who has a disability. I can see she often feels isolated from the other workers and they don't always treat her very nice, mainly the younger workers. So I always make it a point to sit with her for a while after getting my coffee to ask her how she is and about what's going on in her life. It's only like 5 to 10 minutes of the day. I often just don't like knowing that she may feel she's not cared about enough to just have someone talk to her like any other person. She's a nice woman.

That’s beautiful Man O Steel! I’m sure she really appreciates that.

I remember I used to volunteer at an op shop and the older guys always trained the younger people to be friendly and give people a smile because we worked with a lot of refugees and often we were the only human contact they had that day. It’s funny, it’s free to be nice but it means so much to people
