How I Met Your Mother

I missed that one. I'm shocked to see her outside of IASIP.

"Are you coming? Marshall? Marshall, are you coming?"

Wow. Was not expecting that ending. Curious where they're going with this, it felt really out of place with the tone of the rest of the episode.

I thought it was out of place with the series. Has it ever gotten that emotional?

Nobody's ever died tragically. But it was really sad when Ted finally got together with Robin and came home as happy as could be to find Marshall, recently dumped by Lily sitting on the porch.

Oh man i got up in tears with that ending. :( That was just horrible.

Someone died? I only caught the very end when Marshall and Lilly were hugging. I thought maybe she found out she couldn't have kids or something.

She told him that Marshall's dad had a heart attack and didn't survive.

I love HIMYM, watched all the episodes over and over it's truly a brilliant show, very consistent compared to most shows.

However that ending really shocked me, I wasn't expecting it at all and to be completely honest it made me love the show even more because that ending has brought a new dimension to the show that wasn't previously there.

I think Marshall will blame himself, due to the news he gave his father beforehand.
Seriously though it was a brilliant ending.

I don't think so. Remember future Ted said, "Kids, to this day, your Uncle Marshall was thankful for what Lilly said next." It kind of gives him some resolution or closure. If he had never told his dad about his possible "problem", he would have had that regret forever.

I do agree that the ending was brilliant.

I agree but I still think that he will blame himself a little, it won't be rational because of what happened but the key is that IN TIME he will be thankful.

He really wanted to tell his dad the good news. So that i think will be what the next episode will centre around. Marshall blaming himself for possibly causing what happened and wishing he could have told his dad the good news sooner.

The episode was good but I feel like they're focusing too much on everyone else except for Ted. I know the other actors are the bigger stars but I'm still interested in who the mother will be.

So many people told me that it was really sad that when it happened I expected it to be the whole episode

Still really sad though

I feel like the Ted Zoe subplot has been enough for me as far as Ted storylines are concerned, I like Zoe a lot and I don't mind knowing she's not the mother, I hope she sticks around for a while.

I think the thing with Ted is, like he said in the season 3 premiere. His journey is not just about how he meets the mother, but how he becomes the man he needs to be to meet her. I feel like him having a background role this season and helping his friends is a way of building up to that. Its really pushing his character forward in a subtle way.

dont forget about his turning into Bob Saget at some point :awesome:

Mother f**er! Of all days, I needed a good laugh the most today, and at the end I'm more upset. F!

havnt been watching this season, I felt like it was time to introduce the mother as a recurring character a while ago and have it be a while before ted gets her, then have them dating

They need to show us more of Ted's hot daughter.

They do. Only it's on the CW and it's called Nikita.
