Comedy From ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Creators Gets Put Pilot Commitment At Fox
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

How I Met Your Mother co-creators/executive producers Carter Bays & Craig Thomas have teamed with fellow HIMYM executive producer Chris Harris for a single-camera comedy project that landed at Fox with a put pilot commitment after a bidding war. Titled The Goodwin Games, the comedy revolves around three siblings who reconnect after the death of their father. 20th Century Fox TV, where Bays, Thomas and Harris are under an overall deals, is producing, with Bays, Thomas and Harris executive producing. Bays and Thomas are with UTA, Harris is with CAA.
Glad to see the guys at work on another series. And single camera too.

sweet.

Bays and Thomas have my support after making such a great show in HIMYM.

Bang...bang...bangity bang I said bang,bang,bangity,bang.

Lily's boobs do look fantastic. They should get their own screen credit.

do you think they purposely had Robin wearing a loose fitted shirt to enhance/ an draw more attention to Lilys boobs...?

Something's going to happen that makes Barney/ Robin/ Ted not hang out as much. It could even be Barney's wedding ending badly.

I loved that episode. solid comedy, solid set up for future episodes, solid character stuff with Victoria.

EDIT: Just saw the episode. I love when they do back and forth stuff like that. As for the ending, I don't think the three of them will completely separate from each other because I was watching some older episodes and Ted told his kids that Robin got over her fear of kids by spending time with them. So I wonder if its something they'll address this season.

Also, that future glimpse of Barney with the ducky tie from last week's episode is super interesting because now they've set it up so that it could happen anything, kinda like how they set up the Goat story for almost 2 years.

Didn't they kind of already cover the Robin/Ted/Barney thing not working a few seasons back when Ted and Barney humiliated themselves in front of her and Don?

Yeah, but I think in this case it was to highlight why Ted's relationships haven't worked out, although I'd say hanging out with Robin would be worse than just hanging out with Barney.

For some reason, that kinda leads me to believe that Robin may not be Barney's wife and might not even be at the wedding if they follow Ted's advice about no exes.

I'm actually happy with the Katie Holmes casting, I think she'll do fine.

Not a fan of the Barney/Ted/Robin love triangle, as someone else mentioned, I feel like it was squashed when Don was in the picture. My friends and I subscribe to "The Ex Rule" which clearly states that no two exes can remain great friends unless... a) one or both of them have moved on to other people or b) they want to get back together.

But I don't want to see Ted/Robin rehashed...again.

Unless......one of my friends (who I introduced to the show) has this theory that the "mother" is Robin, but she doesn't end up marrying Ted, they have two children out of wedlock (the biggest hole in this theory) and at the end of the show Ted's going to reveal to his kids that his wife is not their mother, it's actually Aunt Robin.

Personally, I kinda feel like this season's going to end with Ted visiting Robin, who is revealed as the bride, but instead of asking for advice they start making out, revealing an affair. I feel like hints like tonight lead toward that.

Oh, and I laughed hard when Lily flashed Barney, that was hilarious.

My exact reaction to this:

It would be an interesting twist all around, but I'd like to think back to Robin's speech before the "wedding" with Stella where she told Ted he deserved a big ending to this story instead of the one he was trying to fit into. I want to see Ted meet the girl of his dreams in some spectacular way and get everything he's ever wanted from her. I like knowing that the mother is out there somewhere and that Ted just hasn't become the man that he needs to be yet.

And I think there's a flaw to the Robin theory since Ted said he met the mother at the wedding. Plus, she was at the St. Patrick's Day club, and in that episode, Robin was with Marshall and Lily all night. Plus, even if it's out of wedlock, unless he marries someone else, she would still be the mother even though she's not his wife.

Yeah, there are a lot of holes in his theory, I'm just stoked that he digs the show as much as I do.

That said, with all the hyping up for this mother, she better have the best story out of all of the girls Ted's met.

I think it'll be hard to beat Victoria. Especially since we just saw them together again, albeit briefly.

I couldn't help but root for them to be together again.

Yeah, I can't wait to hear the story about the yellow umbrella. It's very interesting to hear all of the theories out there about who could possibly be the mother and how Ted meets her. I just hope its not a letdown, but I have faith that they'll pull it off in a great way. I can already see them having Ted get introduced to a bunch of girls in the finale just to get people thinking about who the mother is.

ya, but, that's once he already got married and had kids...

that doesn't mean, he wont stop hanging out with her up until he finds the one
(then once in a secure relationship with her, he eventually starts hanging out with Robin again)

The 3rd episode of How I Met your Mother season 7 brought the show back to it's quality, the sheer insanity of it all was glorious! Barney's determination for boobs, Lilley's worrieness, Marshall's love for Lilly and Ted's search for fate and the friend group synergy wa spitch spot on here.

I think what it was is that Ted gets mad when Robin agrees to marry Barney but would not settle down with him. I think that is going to be the problem as to Ted not understanding how she could settle down with Barney and not him.

Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense.

I still think Robin is too obvious. I can't believe they'd keep hinting at it and just make it her.

Still early in the season, really stoked. I'm the only one who does this, but I kinda look at it this way......by the time this season is over we'll be back in summer and TDKR will be right around the corner.

I loved last night's episode. It had just the right balance of comedy and drama. Ted's search for his wife is the main reason I watch the show besides the comedy so I was happy that it was at the center of episode. The ending really made things interesting IMO. I don't think that there will be another love triangle but they might show the three not becoming as close anymore (which happens in real life). Looking forward to more episodes like this one in the future.

Honestly, if I was Ted I would be pissed too. Robin and Ted broke up for the sole reason that she did not want to settle down. It wasn't like she didn't love him. So if she decides to settle down with Barney, I'd be asking some questions too!

I like how everything is sort of set up to go either way concerning Barney's wedding. Barney obviously has a few doubts about who he is marrying and perhaps the bride is as well. It might not matter who the bride is (when we first see her), because the other woman may object at the last second.

I wonder if the scene at the casino, where we first see the ducky tie, is for Barney's bachelor party? This season is shaping to be a good one IMO.

For some reason, though, I saw Ted's line at the end to mean that the three of them couldn't be together anymore, not that he had to separate himself but them. So I don't see Robin marrying Ted and him being upset, even though it would work pretty well story-wise.
