How I Met Your Mother

They both got fat when they were together. I honestly don't know whether they will end up together. This whole thing may turn out to be another lesson about relationships like Ted and every girl he's dated.

it does feel wierd with Barney having a girlfriend, the whole Barney-Robin and Nora thing kind of reminds me of the Ted-Robin and Victoria thing.

I haven't had cable for a week so I've been watching the DVDs of the series from the start and earlier today I saw Nora's first appearance and it reminded me of why I want her to end up with Barney. I feel like his relationship with Robin was meant to show that he was capable of change, while Nora takes it a step forward by making him act on those desires. I just can't see him doing the same for Robin, again.

I like the idea of Barney with a relationship (Nora or Robin), I don't like having plots like last night where Barney basically gives up some of his moves. Last time we had something similar like this Barney gave up his porn........and then they broke up.

Finally got around to seeing last night`s episode and I kinda agree that Barney isn`t as fun when he`s in a relationship, but at the same time, it shows growth and maturity in his character. Though I`m kind of worried at how perfect things felt with him and Nora, almost as though its just a matter of time until it ends, and for that I don`t see her as the bride because it would be too obvious.

A big twist, however, would be if Robin or Nora is the bride and calls Ted over to say she doesn`t want to marry Barney as a way of not fully domesticating Barney since it would be hard to keep him as fun as he normally is if he is tied down for good.

Barney's gay hairdresser character was pretty great. :hehe:

Barney and robin belong together they have Marshal and Lily like chemistry.

Ted and Robin had better chemistry. Barney and Robin are like bros.

Well, you can't have him in a committed relationship without giving up some of his moves. He can't keep hitting on other women. And this time, it seems he's really serious. Unlike with Robin, you didn't see him sleeping with other women, while he was trying to get together with Nora. Nora also didn't force him to get rid of his stuff, like Robin forced him to get rid of his porn. All the things he does, he does on his own free will. He really wants to be a good boyfriend.

You can still have him his usual crazy self, without being a man ****. Remember the meatball sub? That's Barney at his usual crazy self.

What's better than a beautiful women can be like a bro? A beautiful woman that likes cigars, sports, and laser tag.

Yeah, she was small so she was allowed to push the kids. :awesome:

to me Barney and Robin together is a forced way from the writters to have all the 5 actors alone . until Ted meets his wife.
so Barney/Robin,Lilly/Marshel and Ted searching for his wife. and i dont like that. its been said more then once in this thread. Barney changed alone for Nora.he was not forced. the writters themself are making it obvious that she is the right girl for him. 10 episdes later he will go to Robin? and we know that Nora and Barney brake up. thats the scene at the casino with Marshel. Barney is on the phone and looks shocked.

and after 20 years i have enough with the same pregnancy, birth story. AGAIN we have a sitcom where the husband is not next to his wife when she gives birth. what will it be? elevator, car crash or laser tag game?

yes call me crazy but i think there is still a chance that Ted and Robin are together at the end. Ted has 2 kids with another girl. that way Robin is the aunt and they are together after 40.

I think the mother is a different woman altogether. She's not Robin or Nora. We haven't met her yet and probably won't until the final season. As much as I want Robin to be the mother, I can't see it working out. It would be too confusing. Ted's wife and mother of his children need to be the same woman. Having her be Barney's sister is still a possibility though.

Yeah, I hate when shows do that, though I think part of has to do with scheduling and salaries, so its cheaper than hiring new actors to guest star. But yeah, I hate how in shows like the Office or Friends, they have a large cast and they constantly pair people up, whether its for a few episodes or the rest of the series.

And yeah, after seeing how perfect Nora is for Barney, its almost too perfect to the point where you know they won't end up together because it would no longer a mystery since it seems obvious. And it also feels obvious that they will break up, Robin will confess her love, and they will give it another go. Kinda like how Ted and Robin were perfect for each other, but eventually had to be broken up because the chemistry was too good (plus because we already knew she wasn't the mother).

No way Robin is Ted's wife in the future that's been ruled out since the pilot when at the end of the pilot he says this is the story of how I met your aunt robin. We also know the mother was in the first class he ever teached in and a roomate of the lesbian chick he dated. When they finally reveal the mother she is gonna be a chick that we saw in that class, a girl in the club scene from st. Pattys day. It's going to seem very obvious she's made cameos but never pointed out to be her. The other reason I believe robin is barneys bride is because at the end of episode 2 this season victoria mentioned that robin was the reason he hadn't found the right one. That this relationship with Barney, robin, and him didn't work. This leads me to believe Barney marrying robin will be the toughest thing Ted will ever have to go through because he still loves her. I think it's going to be freeing for Ted which will be the catalyscist for him to meet that girl.

I doubt that she was actually in any of the episodes. They will simply add her in like they did with Doug the Bartender in The Fight.

The thing about Barney marrying Robin and Ted being upset is that he also meets the wife at that wedding, so I doubt that he will meet her while he is upset.

Damn I love this show because they've really planted so many interesting seeds to build up the mystery of who is the mother.

I would really, really, really, really, really ****ing hate it if Robin turned out to be Barney's wife. Yes, he and Robin were in love ones, but you never saw him trying to better himself as much as he's trying with Nora. I don't think they even showed an episode of him being shattered after they broke up. He was just nowhere near as emotionally invested.

Yes, Nora seems too perfect. But I hope they made it on purpose. So people believe it's too good to be true and the break up is inevitable, only to have Nora be the wife after all.

Barney was upset about the robin break up he just hides it. Just like that perfect week episode when Barney is upset he becomes a bigger ****e.

Honestly, Nora and Robin are too obvious choices for Barney. I want the bride to be Nora but if it's not then I hope there's a twist and it's someone we haven't met yet.

If it's not Nora, I'd definitely prefer someone entirely new. Robin and Barney burned and crashed. Hard. I'm already getting annoyed watching Robin trying to steal Barney back. You'd think if she'd try to get back with anyone, it'd be Ted. With him organizing that whole blue orchestra and generally being all crazy romantic and being a good boyfriend, while Barney was pretty much his pervy self.

Yeah, I remember the producers mentioning that as a possibility, but it would be hard to see Barney getting married period, let alone to someone other than the two girls he was willing to enter into a relationship with.

This goes back to the belief that Ted would be mad at Robin for choosing to get married with Barney, when that was the main reason she broke up with Ted. But honestly, I don't think Robin is the kind of girl Ted wants anymore, and I honestly think he deserves someone better.

Same for Barney. Last season's finale showed that Barney has also thought about getting back with Robin, but part of him realizes that it wouldn't be a good idea. But with Nora, it's like he realized that eventually he would have to settle down and with her, he changes because of her, but not in a bad way.

Yeah, they did. Don't know if it's the earliest time, but Season 6, Episode 18 is one time they met.
