I think this is going to be the final step for Barney to get into a serious relationship.

I think we will see Barney go on one more 'Barney Bender' and then settle, or just settle. Who with? I don't know.

But could it be that the character returning is Nora? Was a love for her voiced enough by fans?

Could the end wedding be Barney and Nora's, Robin not being there due to her still having some feelings towards Barney? (and the not having your ex at the wedding thing?)

I'm not sure Barney will settle just yet simply because we have another 2 (possibly more) seasons.

I wonder if Ted's house will be complete little by little by the time he meets the mother. I honestly forgot he even had the place, but I liked the tie-in with the basketball hoop.

It actually makes works if Ted meets his future wife at a wedding. I mean if Barney does have a half sister in college that could be how he meets her at Barney's and Robin's wedding.

Yeah, I'm for a Barney and Norah relationship. Are they really going to stay true to the whole "don't have an ex at your wedding" thing? If that's the case, Robin won't be invited to Ted's wedding or Barney's wedding (if he ever gets married). And she's a big part of the show so I can't see her not being there at Ted's wedding if they ever show it.

I'd rather Barney and Nora than Barney and Robin. I think the latter worked for a it but shouldn't return again or anything, its pretty clear the two work best when as good friends, especially since Robin is far more of a wingman than either Ted or Marshall.

Interesting theory. I could see it happening. Though that would make her fairly young for Ted (probably about a ten to twelve year age gap).

At any rate, AMAZING episode. NPH earned his Emmy this episode. I really hope he gets it rather than Colfer or someone from Modern Family. He was both hillarious and dramatic. The basketball hoop scene was great. And as for Lithgow....damn. Dude brought his A-game.

Rachel Bilson's character was in college too working on a doctorate and that didn't seem like it was out of the realm for Ted as far as relationships go.

Wow, Ted and Barney's half-sister, I really like that theory.

And I really thought everything last night was well done except for the last moment. Barney staring out the window with that last line while everybody comes up behind him and put a hand on his shoulder? Way too after school special.

Thought it would've been great to just have him start working on putting the hoop out in the back, maybe mutter that last line to himself. The ending just bugged me.

Loved the scene were he teaches Barney how to use a screwdriver, it was real subtle yet powerful scene

I'd imagine by the end of this season Barney will be ready for commitment mainly cos of his feelings with his father. The last kind of showed this that he was going to give Ted's kid the childhood he never had and support Ted with it.

I was wondering about that and the house kind of makes me wonder if Barney's sister is the wife seeing as they live not far from Ted and is in college it just seems so obvious

It actually makes works if Ted meets his future wife at a wedding. I mean if Barney does have a half sister in college that could be how he meets her at Barney's and Robin's wedding.

Ted has his kids call Robin, Aunt Robin, she's probably going to be at the wedding.

This episode was great, the show has really been amazing since Marshall's dad died, really comining the comedy with the drama well.

As How I Met Your Mother's season-ending mystery wedding nears, two additional faces will pop up to further complicate the possibilities.

In the April 18 episode, Battlestar Galactica vet Michael Trucco will assume the role of Robin's oft-discussed, but never seen "crush" from years earlier. And I'm hearing Michael will be featured heavily next season as well, as he apparently figures prominently into Robin's future. Hmmm... No word on how this will impact his starring role as Justin Patrick on USA Network's Fairly Legal. One Tree Hill fans will also recognize Michael from the 2005-06 season when he played Cooper Lee, and Castle fans know him from his recurring role as Detective Tom Demming.

But that's not all. HIMYM fans hoping for a Barney/Robin union may not be too thrilled to hear that former General Hospital beauty Nazanin Boniadi will reprise her role as Robin's co-worker and Barney's love interest, Nora, on the May 16 season finale. She is also expected to return next season — which should be quite the year for love.

Love that guy. Cant argue with someone from BSG appearing.
