Seeing the American flag in the back makes me really hope Barney does an Apollo Creed Rocky 4 type entrance.

He did it :awesome:

Didn't care for Holmes. But the Barney/Canada stuff was fun.

Holmes wasn't horrible, but yeah the Barney/Canada stuff was gold.

After watching the Episode, I thought she was a great choice. If you wanted to make the audience dislike the ****ty Pumpkin.

Barney is 1/4 Canuck. :awesome:

I originally was wishing that they would've tied the ****ty Pumpkin more into the ongoing narrative and had her play a part in actually meeting the mother.

But after 22 minutes of the Holmesy Pumpkin, I'm really hope we never see her again.

I doubt we will see her again. I think the point of that story was to show Ted that sometimes when you wait for something for so long, you build up this unreal expectation of what you thought it would be.

I was watching a re-run right before tonight's episode and it really made me miss Mary the Paralegal. She was such a great fit for Ted, and they probably would've had a future together had he not thought she was a prostitute.

overall a pretty good episode this week...

as much as I enjoyed the nod back to the Snuffy Tuffkin, I mean, the Stiffy Napkin errrr ah you know what I mean
and the whole Barney being part canadian thing and Robin ripping on him

dumb Lily, stole the show for me

I watched the last 2 episodes back to back. The one where everyone saw their significant ones as their parents was great. I laughed so hard at the sight of Marshall's dad and Lilly's dad about to get it on. Ted being a Weird Al fan was hilarious too. The halloween episode was just okay. I expected more from the ****ty Pumpkin. I thought Holmes was okay in the acting department but I thought the ****ty Pumpkin would be more instrumental in Ted finding the mother. I miss those episodes. I'm really looking forward to the episodes that will analyze the Ted/Robin/Barney relationship and what Victoria said about it at the end of her episode.

Anyone else find it odd Barney and Robin would be at a party without their BF/GF?

No, because I believe they are getting married at the end of the season. I believe that wedding will tie all the loose ends because Robin will be off the market, out of Ted's apartment, then he can finally move on. To me it seems pretty obvious that Ted still has a thing for Robin, I know they are suppose to be friends, but Ted seems to be stuck in relationship limbo.

Maybe I'm weird, but it was kind of funny seeing Holmes sing Smashmouth and Barney fight himself

sad but true :csad:

he will not marry Nora because this is TV. nothing is so simple on a tv show. Barney was never serious with a girl before Robin so a girl from the past is not an option. they will also not introduce a new girlfriend. so its Robin. with the first episode they threw it in out face when Robin was still thinking about Barney.

Barney and Robin didnt work together. this is what the writters wrotte in season 5. but Nora makes Barney more happy then ever. he changed for her. he did thins for Nora that he couldnt do for Robin.but at the end he will be with Robin.

and it all comes down to paycheck IMO. this is season 7. next year it will be season 8. by season 8 all the 5 main characters will have big paychecks.the show is popular so they get a LOT money. its normal. having a new regular would be to expensive. so they need to have the 5 actors alone. and this is how you do it. Robin and Barney are together. meh. :cmad:

i have been drunk since the day i was born. ;)

Barney and Robin could work since they did well initially. The problem was they let themselves go and just didn't care. I think they'll learn from that mistake and realize they are right for one another.

Barney and Robin being together is as much about Ted than it is about them. Ted lives with his ex-gf no woman in her right mind is going to be okay with those living arrangements.

Sometimes the stories he tells his children seem widely innapropriate. He even brought it up a few times on the show, telling a story about Barney sleeping with a different woman every night and at the end asks his kids, "Am I a bad father?"

How could this be fixed? Too late now, I know, but here is an idea:
Each time we see the kids they are at different ages, played by different actors many times. So that some of the more mature stories can be told to older kids. And maybe his kids even ask him questions or for advice. His son asks him how he can break up with this girl without hurting her feelings. So he tells them a story about how sometimes in a break up you are left with nothing but hurt feelings no matter how hard you try.

Just an idea I had.

the slap bet returns! I'm glad they brought it up. it's been a while.

LOL, I remember the hurricane and it was really nothing here in the city.
