How long do I have to buy the 60GB PS3...

I hope so. But to the OP. Get it RIGHT NOW! GO. GO. RUN LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT! lol Be sure to grab that Ninja Gaiden Sigma too.

Honestly, I think only Nintendo has the consumer's interests at heart.

They paid $499 for a console that is so inferior to the one that is available now for $499.
I paid £299 for my PS2 at launch. It's not under £100. I have an inferior PS2, and paid much more for it.

Am I mad? No. Because prices drop over time. That's just the way it goes.

The 20GB does have HDMI by the way, it was originally removed only to be put back in.

That example is not analogous to what I said. The PS2 dropped in price, yes, but it wasn't replaced with a model that was clearly superior to that one. So, if i pay $499 for something, I would be a wee bit ticked off if that model was completely discarded in 8 months and the better model (the one I couldn't afford at the time) was at the price I paid for it. If that doesn't upset you, fine.

To BatMatt. That's all well and good, but my point was that, if you were one of those people waiting in the cold at launch with your measly $500 dollars, it would have been nice if they at least put in some HDMI. Oh, and for God's sake...throw in some component cables:woot:

I'm just saying that owners of the 20GB don't have to worry about future games/products not working on their console. In fact they'll have better backwards capability than owners of the 80GB. The system still outputs at 1080p and up to 7.1 channel sound so they get all that as well. Sure their $500 today would get them more but thats the nature of electronics

I guess. And they can always put in that huge 120GB drive if they wanted. WiFi is the only real drawback I guess. Oh, and the multiple flash reader thing, but that's not a problem. Still, I think, when you have to lower your price after a few months, kinda lie about it, then release a newer version, something is up.

well that was a no brainer. Anyone who honestly doesnt see this coming is deluding themselves

Hmm...
I have enough for a PS3, but I might get a used one from Gamecrazy...

So I just told my mom to order the PS3 while I'm away, but could only think of two games I really want that are out: All Pro Football 2k8 (shouldn't this be out already?!) and Motorstorm. Anything else out there? And should I really spend 40 bucks on a second controller when rumbler ones are merely months away?

Id wait on the controller unless you dont care for rumble. Thats what Im going to do

I don't really care about rumble, so I'm not affected.
Game Crazy has a used one that's never been opend, and it's 449.99.

VGCharts can be a tad unreliable, well they're the next best thing currently for America next to NPD, but we'd best wait on actual NPD numbers for confirmation on something like that.

10-4.

Does anyone know how much I can get if I trade in my PS2 at gamestop?

I don't know now since the price drop, but for the longest time they were having a deal where if you trade in your PS2 you get teh 60 gig model for 499. I don't know if they are still discounting it a hundred dollars or not though since the drop.

I wanted to get the 60G $500 model cuz of the BR movies that came free, but since I have to wait until Aug 30th due to money issues, I really dont know what to do. Will the 80G with the Motorstorm tie-in go to $500 from $600 after the 60G are sold out??? And how long will it take for the 60G to sell out anyways? If the BR deal is til Aug 30th, then I think I can still do that AND get Motorstorm for free. What do you think Zenien?
