I think this is ending up to be a mess!..I loved Hulk 1, I thought it was a great orgin story, lots of tragedy and some fun. The tuth is not a lot of people liked it and I feel that Marvel doesnt care because the first one didnt have fans. MArvel hires a bad director, they are deciding to go with man in a suit, and the list is pretty much infinite with the nonos they are doing for the film. Just because people didnt like the first doesnt mean they cant put in quality and try to make it better.... This just reminds me of the Batman Begins line...Why do we fall?To pick ourselves back up!!! :(

Thats my five cents

Most of us here loved it ;)
If there going with the suit, there going to kill it.:down
They should bring Eric back but if they don't it can still work out.....I guess just as long as they don't use a suit :P

I thought the first one was f****d up. Most superhero-to-movie transitions need to change the origin anywhere between 0-10% at most. With Hulk, Ang Lee probably changed like 30-35% of it. Why is that? A 15ft. Hulk? Absorbing Dad? Nanomeds? No gamma bomb? No Rick Jones? WTF? I'll be really suprised if the new film has more no-nos than the last one. I didn't even get into how pooly paced Lee's film was or how distracting it was for him to try and make it look like a comic book with all those split screens. No one else has tried that(not even Nolan) and for good reason. It costs you more than you gain.

^^Avi said it a few times I believe maybe Im wrong -shrugs-
Either way I LOVED the comic panel screen. It was something different (bullet time in the matrix, sin city, ect)...I hope they keep it for 2

as soon as the first movie didn't make any money I know Avi was going to do this, deep in my heart i knew it...expect the polar opposite of the first movie, a mindless action movie, and you'll see where this is going.

Aren't there more important things in life to get upset about? Just like clockwork every decision has the worrywarts coming out.

*raises hand*
This is starting to sound like the next Elektra. :(

I liked Hulk, the thing that got to me was the blasted Comic book pannels. Keep everything else apart from those annoying pannels and they'll be fine. And can someone point me in the direction of where its said theyre going with the suit option? I cant believe this is true!

Uh,they never said **** about Hulk being a man in a suit. They've implied it,but there's a chance he'll still be CG.

I'm upset. I'm already thinking this is gonna be piece of sht.

Ug...this movie will suck. They are going in the opposite direction of a movie that only screwed up the last 45 minutes worth of story. Other than that it was perfectly to what the Hulk should be.

Nanomeds? No Gamma bomb? No Rick? How is that perfect?

Bless you sir! Ang Lee's Hulk only got 3 things right, IMO. They chose good actors, had a good musical score, and the "Hulk vs. The Army" fight scenes(and even there, you had to deal with a 15ft tall hulk). I'd say Lee blundered 2/3 of that movie outright. So if someone wants to take it in another direction, by all means let's do so.

And just like clockwork you here to defend Marvel despite the fact that they are ****ing this franchise up big time.

Listen i have no problem with you AD, quite the opposite, but your rigorous defense of Marvel, despite the fact that they have become a joke in the last couple of years annoys me sometimes. They havent made an above average movie since Spiderman 2 and their next movie out is in Feb 07. That will be nearly 3 years of poor movie making, i'm just hoping Ghost Rider is as awesome as the trailer looks.

But Marvel is ****ing up this movie big time IMO. It sounds like they havent even called Bana, and i doubt he would be convinced of doing the sequel by the director of the Transporter movies and Unleashed anyway.

Sigh. Hollywoods never going to get Superherofilms right.

I thoguht the Hulk was great. I'd say it has much more of a cult following then anything.

And just because something isn't extremely popular doesn't make it bad.

There was A Gamma bomb in the movie, which was used mainly for symbolism purposes. The only reason it wasn't used as his origin because it would probably take too much of a suspension of disbelief for most audiences now a days. The nanomeds was just a more updated modern take on the origin. They did the same with Spider-man. Hell, there'snot even any Gamma Bomb involved in the Ultimates. But the one thing that did piss me off was the lack of Rick jones, though I guess betty kind of played both parts throughout the movie.

^ Rick Jones was tied to Captain America at the time which was with another studio so they couldnt use him.

an origin doesn't make a hero, if the character is still somewhat true to their motivation in the comics than everything else about the film can pretty much take a back seat, especially for the sake of telling a specific story.

it's unfortunate you didn't enjoy ang lee's creativity with his hulk story, i thought i was quite a breath of fresh air in comparison to the somewhat condescending films that have been received well in the past.

I'm with you on this one.

Even if this film ends up being a complete opposite of the first film, surely that would be the best way to please everyone with half the fan base liking the first one and the other half liking the second.

no other film franchise will really have their character portrayed so differently in order to please the masses (well maybe bats but not in the best light).

again it's really not great to be jumping to conclusions before anything has been seen of what we are going to get.

heck if marvel get this film wrong, fans of the first one and ang less can sit back and smile with a big 'we told you so' look on our faces and what can really be more satifiying than that?

;)

but who knows, all this worrying may be for nothing and we may end up with a better film.

it's a win win situation.

I know what you mean, but i would get a lot more satisfaction from getting 2 good Hulk movies than telling some haters that they were wrong.

in that case one just has to keep an open mind because it seemed that people who liked the first aren't going to get a a film that is similar to it. Once you except that change is inevitable, then you can be open to enjoying this change...

i kinda see this as a star wars case of people who like the original trilogies in comparison to people who like the prequel trilogies. it's pretty much one or the other, you can't please both sets...
