How quiet was it during this scene?

Mine was dead... no talking, no whispers... everyone watched him fall exactly like the people in the movie when they watched him falling from the sky... this was an amazing moment... much like the crucifixion scene during the Passion of the Christ where everyone in my theater was silent throughout.
same here

During the fall... absolutely silent. Except for one lady whispering "No... oh, God, please no. Not him." During the scene in which he was almost killed by Lex... also silent. I had the hardest time keeping from crying. LOL. It's embarassing but I did. That tells you how powerful that was... I NEVER CRY AT MOVIES.

My theater was silent, but I saw it with no more than 20 people in the theater. I don't think I really heard a peep the entire 155 minutes.

Although I can't stand loud moviegoers, I would've loved to have seen it with a packed theater of fans. I saw both Revenge of the Sith and Batman Begins at midnight before opening day, and it's such a great experience. I love it when the whole audience cheers together during a great moment.

It would've been nice to hear everyone get excited after the main titles, but my theater was dead silent.

Both times I saw it, my theatre was dead silent. The first time, the theatre was packed--and reactions included laughter and even applause (specifically during the plane crash)--and the second time is was at about half capacity.

Love it. You still what's her names loyal service boy? The girl in your avvy who looks nothing like her?

InsayneJayne is so 2004.

I'm glad to see (besides replying twice for no reason) you decided to not defend yourself and just go for an insult that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Oh wait...you're banned again. I count what 13 or 14 times you've been banned? So I take that as yes you do revel in being an idiot.

You're so 1985

I heard subtle laughs each night during the hospital scenes. I laughed a little at the scene, too. It was kinda funny to see human doctors try to stick needles into Supes' arms. . . . then he blows up the heart machine.

It was near total silence when I saw it. The only sound to be heard was me trying hard to muffle my curses when Supes did the "crucified" pose. Yeah, there are parallels between Jesus and Superman, I got it the first half a dozen times Bryan!

but I did stay quiet for the beating. Seeing Superman get owned that much on a giant screen was...unsettling for some reason. I was just mesmerized.

And I did laugh outloud during the hospital scene. Not during the surgery attempt, but afterwards when he's in bed. I guess seeing "the world's greatest hero" in a hospital gown is really hilarious to me. It just feels so un-heroic for Superman (which is funny if you think about it, since he usualy wears tights).

I had no idea people actually talked that way outside of something written by Kurt Busiek.

It was really quiet. It was very powerful, like the Supes getting owned scene. Having the world's strongest man get beaten the crap out of him and then later see him fall from that high was really powerful.

Does anyone have a pic of Supes falling? Maybe the people with a bootleg can make some screens? Would be appreciated...

The only sound was my audible sigh because of the heavy handed Jesus imagery being shoved in my face, YET AGAIN, by this movie.
