Wimpy? Tortured? Cocky? Likable?

I hope they show what a brilliant scientist he is! I mean in the comics, he's right up there with the Hanks (Pym and McCoy)!

He'd be even closer to the Reed, Tony, Doom...
Scientificaly of course :wow: (is that word from earth?)

Intelligent, and compassionate but rather wimpy, and absoluetly terrifyed of physical confrontations. Pretty much everything Bixby encompassed.

And for god sake, no "I like it" when he turns into Hulk. Why on earth Ang and co went with Banner/Bana liking the fact he changes into Hulk is a complete contradiction of the Hulk/Banner character.

a lot of times, in the comics, Bruce likes to became the Hulk and, sometimes, he also causes the transformation with a little evil smile on his face.

no, because that was his dark side coming out, was the Hulk. This is the reason for this purpose. He said "You know what scares me the most? When I can't fight it anymore, when it takes over, when I totally lose control... I like it.". He's scared about that, about the relief that he has in succumb to his natural emotions... because those could hurt someone.
The Hulk is relief(freedom) after a life of self repression.

Banner, is a scientist, with rational mind, logic, cause and consequences...
and he wants to find a cure, cause when Hulks takes over, he can see that there's no more logic or reason...
And feeling that he has lost control, that his inner self can express himself (turning into Hulk), makes him feel terribly bad, thus, looking for cure...
In Ang's, Bana/Banner wasn't happy to acknowledge that he "liked" hulking out... Human contradiction...

I think the part of him that liked transforming was the Hulk inside of him...not Banner. And that's very in keeping with the character.

Also, just because you like something, doesn't mean you don't consider it a curse. Look at addiction. Addiction can destroy and decimate people's lives. They want to stop doing it, they don't want to hurt themselves and the people around them, yet, they're still compelled to do it because...it feels good.

And that sense of contradiction always seems present in Hulk comics, to me.

Definitely wearing glasses, other then that, Norton should play Banner by Bringing his A game, as only he can.:cwink:

Humble and polite, like Bixby. But in his own manner at the same time. I know Norton easily can pull that off.

He should play him as a very lonely and haunted man. Like, no matter how bad the lives of the audience are, they can be glad they're not Bruce Banner. Because it sucks to be Bruce Banner.

I like the more quiet and tormented version of the character. Keeps to himself, very jaded, focused only on exorcizing the Hulk from himself. Not necessarily a mean guy but very serious and in some kind of hurry at all times. He doesn't save any time for himself to have fun. He just gets the job done.

That said, I want to see some heroic moments for Banner AS Banner. That not everything can be solved with brute strength. Let's see him use that brain of his to avert disaster or even protect a kid from gunfire (being shot himself in the process and transforming into The Hulk of course).

He should still have the angst and anger, but it´d be good to have him more sympathetic, more the way Bill Bixby played him in the Incredible Hulk pilot.

Bixby. Seriously, I love how that man played the part.

Bixby is the ****ing Man! I just ordered season 2 of the series from Amazon.com.

he should play him very similar to the way bill bixby portrayed banner.

the ways i want this film to go.. probably not the best for the general public, and market, and it might end up rated R.. as much as i want it to be faithful to the comics, there has to be a line drawn somewhere...either way, i'm still confident that it will come out very well.. that and Norton is REALLY REALLY good..

i want the wimpy puny weakling of a man bruce.. the recent kind in the comics.. the kind who's doing his best to stop something that's kinda like his fate.

If anybody's read the comic where bruce and the hulk become the last beings on earth, you see how jaded bruce becomes, but at the same time, still tries to find a way to just stop it all, to kill himself, or whatever.

that was an awesome read.
