Personally, after the first film, I see Stark designing other suits for different occasions. One being the War Machine suit, which like the comics, is a more heavier armed version of the Iron Man suit. Though it carries some of the same weapons as the Iron Man armor (repulsors, uni-beam, etc), the War Machine has a lot of other abilities and equipment that the IM one doesn't.

There might be a chance that Rhodes getting his own armor will be foreshadowed in the first...But until then, what are your ideas?

Two to one threats on a larger scale then Tony can handle...maybe.

a repost of a post i've made here http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=12350596&postcount=28

Among the rest of the positively received news that leaked from the weekend is the confirmation that Howard's character will become War Machine in the "Iron Man" sequels. "With War Machine, you've got to remember that after Tony Stark made the new Iron Man suit, James Rhodes put on that suit," the "Hustle & Flow" star said of the comic books. "But it's been programmed to Tony Stark's neuro-net and the frequency by which his brain communicates, which allows him to not have to push buttons but just think things. But now [once he puts it on], that drives Jim Rhodes crazy.
"Judging from how that audience responded," Howard added with a grin, "we got a pretty good shot of having some War Machine go down."

Really something to look forward to down the road!

I would want something to make it distinguish him from Iron Man. Such as he isn't as mobile and he needs a get jet attachment to fly. I see warmachine as Iron Man on steroids. I hope that if they make a sequel to Ironman then introduce Warmachine

that might work capt.

Isn't that the Hulk-buster armor though? I see the War Machine armor as more of a specific for combat model rather than the Mark III which is designed for more of the superhero type deal(which includes dealing with the public as IM is also the symbol of Stark's company). You send Iron Man to save a jet-liner from crashing. You send War Machine to wipe out a hostile enemy nation's military.

Well not literally steroids I meant like fire arms galore. Like he is the kinda guy that uses the proton cannon and every type of missile available.

I'd introduce it as a protoype Tony is working on, using the Mark III as the base, taking elements from the Iron Monger suit and then further upgrading it.

During the course of the movie, Tony gets in trouble while acting as Iron Man due to his alcoholism, and Rhodey is forced to rush to his aid in the prototype.

After he is saved, Tony realizes he's a liability and tells Rhodey to take over for the interim. Rhodey being a military man and more physical than Tony, adds his own touches to it, making the prototype the War Machine suit we know and love.

personally if they are going to do a sort of war machine outfit and a potential team up, i would like the war machine outfit to be like a mach one hulk buster outfit.

heavy artillery, hardcore weaponary, all offensive, lil defensive sonnuva *****

having war machine in a sequel is pretty much a necessity, nearly as much a necessity it is to have ock in a spidey sequel or even devastator in a transformers sequel

it really goes without saying.

maybe if mr faverau want his on take om war machine rhodey can be ordered by his military supieriors to confiscate the armor citing national security:ninja:

I've heard a rumbling that the alcohol problem will be somewhat approached in the future sequel. I'm not positive on that, but War Machine is a favorite of mine. I'd like to see him introduced in a granduer fashion rather than the lame, cheesy way.

the manip is alright, slightly too similar to the iron man one though, i see the war machine mask being more menancing

november whats your avvy from?

and ya, I would want War Machine to look not as sleek as the Iron Man, kind of like a vintage american car vs a japanese import

Thats it, I was wondering why it was familiar... man old school

I'd like to think that War Machine is a prototype that Stark was going to introduce to the military. But due to his alcoholism Rhodes has to step up and use Starks suit to defeat some foe. As Stark recovers slowly from his alcoholism he realises that he needs someone to back him up and that Rhodes is a very good friend so he modifies and improves the War Machine for Rhodes. When they do the sequal I can't see War Machine coming on til the end!

ithink rhodey might be intruduced as the soldier who escorts stark on the army base during his demonstration

I could see War Machine (Rhodes) appearing in the climax, to help Stark against whoever the bad guy(s) army..

i think they gona show him during the end of ironman 1 whit an open ending like iron mann is just finished killing the bad guys and like a phiew weeks later oresomthing they are calling hem that a robot is attacking the city en when he comes he look at him and we see the face of war machine and firing a rocket ore something en then THE END

War Machine is a no-brainer for the sequel. I think Terrence Howard signed on the first movie because he believes Rhodes will eventually become WM. I want WM to maintain its classic look, and not a WM/Hulkbuster fusion though. However, along with its heavy weaponry I want them to set it apart from Mark III, such as due to its weight it doesn't have great mobility, which is a price to pay for its firepowers.
