Sequels How will future Avengers action play out?

Does Ultron have an army in the comics? I've been trying to imagine a final battle betwene Ultron and The Avengers, and it looks pretty **** if I'm honest. Cap, Hawkeye, Black Widow and probably Ant-Man and Wasp would be completely useless in the final battle. You need Stark (maybe with Hank if you want to give him something to do) gain control of Ultron's systems and shut him down, then have Thor beat the living crap out of him.

If there was an army of Ultron's then maybe I could see it working but having 6 or 7 heroes just throw down one-after-the-other on a robot doesn't feel very cinematic or interesting at all IMO.

I agree that dogpiling will *never* look good in an Avengers movie, even if the target outclasses the whole team by a few hundred degrees.

But I strongly disagree that Hank and Janet would be useless. In fact, one or both are usually the ones who are *required* to defeat Ultron, since he is, after all, their "unruly child."

I mean in terms of fighting. Janet could be useful, I guess. I don't know much about her but she shoots energy beams from her wrists, right? I'm not sure how Ant-Man could provide a threat to Ultron when he can just incinerate him.

Yeah I'd rather have Hank shut down Ultron's systems than Stark, I mean Stark's had enough big hero moments.

I do like idea of Thor beating Ultron to a pulp, not only because I'm a Thor fan but because he didn't really get a big hero moment in TA.

Mainly because Hank can outwit Ultron, because Ultron literally has Hank's brain patterns.

Plus, a miniaturized Ant-Man and/or Wasp have often been able to get into and wreak SERIOUS havoc with Ultron's circuitry and programming. Something normal-sized hero dudes can't.

Yes, Hank and Janet can go inside and mess up Ultron's circuits. The only armour I think Ultron could have is the Iron Man armours, which there will be about 10 of if this is Avengers 2 and Tony could be trying to gain control of his armours in the final fight.

So there's Hank and Janet inside Ultron, Tony trying to get control of Iron Man, Thor taking down Iron Man armours and then Hulk vs Ultron with Cap helping out and saving civilians?

I think that will work.

I like a lot of these ideas that I'm reading, so let me float my interpretation into the mix:

Ultron doesn't need an army. Whedon has stated that he wants the sequel to be "smaller" and "more personal", so I see that as (assuming we get Ultron in the sequel) Ultron somehow taking control of the computer systems on the Helicarrier or something and trapping all the heroes on-board. Maybe he'd even deliver a line about how he will, as punishment for the heroes, force them to watch as he uses the world's greatest weapon (i.e. the Helicarrier itself) against it. So the heroes swing into action...

Now, I like to think that the film version will have some sort of contingency plan for every Avenger (sort of like how Batman has stated he has a contingency plan for every JL member) and uses those against them as they attack. I REALLY like the idea of him remotely controlling Tony's armors and using them against the heroes. We could even have it hearken back to the line from Avengers where Cap challenges Tony about what he is without his suit.

Personally, I would like to see Hank 'reverse' the Pym particles in Avengers 2 and use them to become Giant-Man during the final battle.

Haven't heard much about Vision in this discussion so far. If we're talkin Iron Man armors Mark II-VIII, Vision and Ultron himself, thats quite a formidable team of super powered robots for The Avengers to face.
