Glad the GL of the future is also too cool for a domino mask :) Wouldn't mind seeing him in live action someday. They'd be better off using the older version shown on the ''Epilogue” episode of JLU
Now THAT'S a JL I'd pay to see!

And Wally with Barry and John with Hal. If Wally stays, put Kyle in there.

I'd be fine with John and/or Wally in the film, but somehow I doubt they'll be used.

Ditto. I'm pretty sure they're gonna **** up & use Hal again.

yeah because using the most interesting, most popular GL would be a bad move because of one bad movie.

Perhaps he's not that interesting or popular to the GA. Perhaps going w/the one that the GA loved on JLU would have been the way to go. That show had more critical acclaim AND mainstream popularity than anything Hal's ever done. Hal's comic popularity meant nothing to the GA. He's not iconic like a Batman or Spidey. He's not irreplaceable. Many of his comic book fans don't seem to get that. The most popular GL from the comics means the same to the GA as the tallest midget

im sure they will use john stewart in this because most of the kids that watched the justice league cartoon will only know him as green lantern.another reason to distance itself from that solo lantern movie and start over.

Just stop, almost everyone else on this thread has posted facts about how Hal Jordan is being pushed by DC right now. He has his tv show. John could barely hold his own episode of JL or JLU.

John and others will be soon in that green lantern animated tv show too.
Guy is already in it,so it's not only hal's tv show, plus there are other green lanterns in it.

It's really the green lanterns tv show.

I wouldn't mind seeing John in this format. It will be interesting to see how they play him considering he's so stoic in the comics and in most other incarnations.

Say what you will about the Green Lantern movie, but more people saw that movie than ever watched JLU. Based on the average ticket price, 14 million people saw Green Lantern in the US even before home video and TV. Cartoons just don't get that many viewers. And even so, Hal has his own cartoon that gets over a million viewers an episode and he was the Green Lantern in Superfriends for nearly 10 years.

It's not like John was anyone's favorite part of JLU either. So how much critical acclaim the show got really has nothing to do with him. In fact, when the show started the most prominent complaint was the use of John and not Kyle, who had been established as DCAU's Green Lantern in the Superman cartoon.

But Hal is the main character. He has the most screentime out of anyone, he's the focus of the stories, he's the one on the promotional material and he's the only one in every episode. It's Hal's show. Everyone else is a supporting character. Just like how it works with every show.

In addition to all of the other reasons, Hal makes for more interesting chemistry between the Leaguers.

John is kinda bland in personality. Hal gives the league a Han Solo type where the rest are Luke Skywalkers or in Batman's case, Darth Vader.

The movie got very bad reviews and flopped. Most of those who saw it didn't like it. Word of mouth killed that movie. Many who saw it will associate Hal w/crap. The GL show hasn't gotten the accolades JLU has yet and it likely never will. It also won't last as long. Any complaints about lack of Kyle in the beginning were quickly drowned in a sea of quality. Kyle hasn't been seen on any show since IIRC so they didn't mean much. Forget Kyle. IIRC this new GL show was being developed when they thought Hal's god-awful movie had a chance at making money.

Batman seems more Mace Windu like to me (I know, wrong trilogy)

Still got seen more.

Most of those who saw it didn't like it.

Can you find me at least 7,000,001 reviews from people who didn't like it? Because the people I've talked to that aren't a superhero or movie nut have rated it from OK to good.

Word of mouth killed that movie.

Indeed it did. But some of the people turned off by reviews eventually caught up with it didn't hate it.

Many who saw it will associate Hal w/crap.

If anything, those people associate the brand with crap. But more than likely the people that didn't like it associate that movie specifically with crap. Making the guy in the suit black won't change that. A good story will.

The GL show hasn't gotten the accolades JLU has yet and it likely never will.

Unless the accolades were for John specifically, that doesn't matter.

It also won't last as long.

The show didn't last long because of John. So the arguments boil down to "John was in a thing with Batman."

Any complaints about lack of Kyle in the beginning were quickly drowned in a sea of quality.

So a story people like does stop complaining? So they can use Hal again as long as the story's better.

Kyle hasn't been seen on any show since IIRC so they didn't mean much. Forget Kyle.

Kyle had an appearance in JLU too. And John hasn't been in any shows since JLU besides Young Justice, with Hal and Guy... Forget John.

IIRC this new GL show was being developed when they thought Hal's god-awful movie had a chance at making money.

... And?

Had they known the movie would fail so hard they might not have made the series or might have went w/a better GL. John's been on YJ w/out Hal & Guy and is the most featured GL on it. In fact he's been in an ongoing story that involves the JL members from the JLU/JL. The ultimate 6 (#7 is Kid Flash om that show), were mind controlled for 16 hours and spent that time beating the crap outta alien planets while telling them not to **** w/earth. These actions have made earth a target for invasion and the whole league wanted criminals in the universe. YJ>>> GL

But they didn't. And they wouldn't have. There isn't a better GL, which is why Hal was in the movie in the first place.

John being the most prominent GL on Young Justice still makes him like the 14th most prominent character on the show. Hal stars in his show. And someone here has pointed out that Green Lantern gets higher ratings than Young Justice. And he hasn't been actually involved in the story, the mind control thing happened then all the characters left. It's not like he's in a bunch of scenes.

I think Sethy said that it got higher ratings. Sethy had a habit of saying **** and then being silent as a church mouse when asked to back it up. Also JLU aired in other countries w/success. You sure more people watched the film?

It failed in those countries same as it did here. Even worse in most. It's foreign box office was laughable
