How would you fix a character

There are a few, or more, characters out there that are having or have had a hard time keeping readers or being interesting.
Sometimes they get changed over and over again to try and make them interesting, by either changing the costume or the person behind the costume, or their back story.

How would you fix one of these characters so that they would be interesting and keep readers?

Jack Russell

I'd have his whole transformation rendered differently, instead of a full on mutation, the wolf would crawl out of his mouth to shed the human skin. Then turn the curse into a crutch, so that Russell devalues his humanity knowing he could retreat into surviving off what he consumes in his wolf form. Hopefully if they can explore the place of a man who knows he's a werewolf in the world of people who don't believe in them he will be a better character.

and Curtis Doyle needs to come back to life, get his ring back, and be drawn by someone else.

Dr. Strange - Start training an Apprentice.

Thor? - Bring him back.

Hank and the Wasp,... Reconcile,.....

Hawkeye - Bring him back,.. with partial memory loss.

Young Avengers? _ More members.

Runaways? More Members

Black Panther? have him beat Doom For real to where Doom has more respect.

Squirrel Girl? - Give her a Tri-monthly Series With The GLA.

Super Skrull? - Make him a Good Guy,.... Give him Domestic Bliss,... Make him the Superman of the Skrull Universe.

Bring back The New Warriors,... ALL of THEM.

Spider-Man, by having him grow a pair, cock-punch Tony Stark, beat the ever-loving hell out of the Green Goblin, and hang JJJ out the window by his underwear, the way you know he should. It'd take one issue and it would be fantastic.

The Authority - about the same as with Spider-Man, but instead of Tony and Norm, substitute every single weak-sauce scrub team whose crap the Authority has had to put up with during the last what, four years of DC making the Authority take crap from weak-sauce scrub teams.

Superman - **** the Space-Gods and supercriminals and Supes-as-Jesus, I'm making him the Working Man's Hero again, putting paid to crooked callous governors and Lucre-gorged robber barons cause it's the right thing to do.

You fix a character by reminding the readers why this character is so special and important to the Marvel Universe. Stop trying to be so shocking and new. Just tell good stories.

If I were DC.. .I'd kill them off and replace them with an ethnic minority.

But in truth, that trick never works. The best way is to have good writing. A good writer and artist can make any character interesting. If you don't have good writing, then any other change made to the character becomes a gimic and to quote the imortal squirrel "AGAIN? BUT THAT TRICK NEVER WORKS"
Gimics can get readers to pick up a book, but only good stories will keep them reading.

Wolverine - Complete reversion back to th' Claremont/Hama years. Clint Eastwood's westerns would serve as th' template.

but it should be close to it.....and shopuld be in all facets of Tony's life and not just his armor. Why does he have hi tech armor and then normal regular cell phones and watches????

I would fix a character buy introducing a naive teenage sidekick. I would also add Gay undertones to the stories with them, and i would add a wise cracking black character. I would also have the character's realtionships end in death and sadness, but then have him flirt with hookers and traps that call themselves superheroines. I would also retcon passed events, so that i could add more depth to the old fashioned stories.
