How would you improve Smallville??

I would stop stretching out the series with fillers so much

I'd use Master Jailer instead of Conduit. He's got the same basic story, a classmate of Clark's with psychological issues who eventually went insane and tried to kill Superman. However, Master Jailer's skills (super genius inventor who builds huge deathtraps akin to Marvel's arcade) makes him a more viable threat. Besides, I just like him better.
Could use both. My Smallville wouldn't rely on FOW (they'd still be there, easy fodder for when Clark develops a new power or his old ones increase in strength) as much. Master Jailer could be a recuring (*gasp* *shock*) villian. He builds a death-trap/death machine to extort and/or rob people. Clark smashes machine. Master Jailer is like WTF, I'll have to build a newer better one. Then he finds out who is smashing hi toys and goes after him.

I would actually have less epsoides, (I know this is the networks decision) cut it down to about 15-16 so there wouldn't be the need to have so many fillers.

I would also keep Lana away from the alien aspect of Clark, if they want her there to help develop the Superman part thats fine but keep her away from the Superman part. By that I mean she's not chasing after stones, or flying sauces and isn't the desire of Zod etc.

I would have put Lana and Clark in a relationship at the start of Season 4 at the latest, they drew that out too far for my likeing

I wouldn't have a college drop out be campaign managers, I can accept Chloe as that role is needed but come on

Yeah Dead Zone is 12 episodes long a season, its a good length and cuts the crap. As for Lois as a campaign manager yeah thats rubbish too, why not just introduce a recurring character for a few episodes who get bumped of at some point just as Mr Kent won the election or something.

Enough with the meteor rock freak of the week. Hopefully with the escapees from the Phantom Zone it would present Clark with new challenges. I want that ***** Lana to stop making Clark feel guilty about secrets and stop making it the word of the day for her. I really hope Lex turns to the dark side this season. He really has been inept for a while. With Jonathan and Joreil gone it would be cool for Clark to figure out his own destiny. I want Lois in more bathing suits!!!!!!!! I think it would be awesome to wait until the end of the season for Clark to fly. Just because I think it would add more anticipation. I know he flew as Kal-El but I want him to master it as Clark. I would like Chloe to show more cleavage. She is hot!!!!

The worst thing that could happen is if they start having guest superheroes pop up every other episode. It would be the equivalent of Clark "jumping the shark". Hey, the show is about Clark's life in Smallville. It's not Justice League, Justice Society or even Teen Titans. I'ts just little ol' Clark Kent.

The thing that makes me laugh about the show is all the creators and actors say it is a show about Clark Kent and that the moment he wears the suit its over, Yet every week they try and introduce something from Supermans world into his child hood. I mean the Justice League show up in it, how Superman can you get.

Well, Conduit was basically a post crisis (and crappy) Master Jailer. Master Jailer's whole deal is that he was a classmate of Clark's who was always competeing with him academically and athletically. Academically, he beat Clark at Math and Science, but was always second in English and History. And, he could never match up to Clark athletically. He fell in love with Lana, but Lana did not return his feelings and started dating Clark, he snapped and tried to kill him (and Superman, who's identity he deduced since he's a genius and all). Also, he wouldn't try and rob people. Besides his obsession with killing Clark, he's obsessed with upholding the law and has a very tough, borderline Punisher style veiw on law enforcement.

Well in any case Smallville exists in it's own version of the DCU. So having a criminal version of Master Jailer (as opposed to the stalker you described) wouldn't be out of line. Besides I like conduit.

I just prefer Master Jailer, and he fist the same role. Besides, I think his skills are more impressive. I mean, which would be more interesting to see? A stalker who's body gives of deadly radiation, or a stalker with a genius intilect who sets up death traps and puts your loved ones in danger in twisted mind games?

1) kill Chloe
2) Bring back Pete
I'll throw in a twist !
1) Kill Chloe, then kill everyone.
2) Get them all back and then have someone say: "Hey! Where's Pete ?!"
3) Kill Chloe again.
Repeat untill all fanboys and supe home page reviewer in deep coma..

Then continue as usual..

Why choose. Have both (in different season ofcourse), everybody wins.

But then the characters would be redundant. They have essentially the same backstory. However, I think Master Jailer's got a cooler gimick.

A little. However if they characters are tweaked a bit it would work. And never have them be on the show at the same time is rule #1 of keeping major redundancy out. Conduit becomes the athletic (and first) rival for Clark and Master Jailer becomes the academic (and second) rival. TV viewers like familarity, or if your cyinical have been told that enough that they believe it's true. And having two same-but-different recuring rivals for Clark fills that need. Having both would track the development of Clark physically and then mentally that lead to him becoming Superman.

I really don't like it. The characters are just too similar. Having both of them is incredibly unnecesairy and redundant.

There should have been an over-arching villian for each season.

Remove most of the "Gilmore Girls" imitations that the girls on the show do and let them act a bit less like they have a stick shoved somewhere. Less gratuitous scenes of things like Lois in the shower (if I wanted to watch shower scenes that's what the internet is for). No lousy teeny-bopper music as it dates the show horribly. Sticking with more of the standard continuity in which Lois isn't introduced yet (how they're going to fish themselves out of this one is beyond me). More consistent writing. I'll be the first person to say that there are episodes which I think are solid ("Sneeze" being a pretty damn good example). I enjoyed the dialogue in that one and felt that aside from Lana, Chloe, and Lois, the performances were good (even by Welling...and I typically can't stand him). The whole storyline of Lana being a witch was not only retarted beyond reason, but it was also disrespectful of a religion. What's next? Ribbing Jesus or Buddha? Not to mention that Kreuk's acting was horrible in few of those. Don't even get me started on the vampire episode. For me, there are parts of this show that shine bright, but there are many a forgettable episode for me. I also think there shouldn't have been nearly as many "meteor freak" episodes.

One of the biggest problems with Smallville is that you could show a new viewer the pilot episode, and then show him Sneeze, and within ten minutes they would get the jist of the show.

Ok........What's the problem with a show attracting new viewers?

Im trying to make the point that nothing has major has changed in six years. Every storyline is tied up or forgotten within two episodes, and leaves no lasting impact on the show other than the death of Johnathan Kent. I love the characters, but the storylines are always on coast mode.

Make Smallville better? It is an excellent show, My top favorite of all time, but there is one way it could be better. I think that if ABC got a hold of Smallville, it would most likely be more recognized, They would probably make some better decisions. Now I actually liked "Clana" in the first few seasons, but got somewhat old by season 5, so I guess they should've added more Clois or Chlark.

less krytonite

krytonite is the stuff used to resurrect pointless threads that should have died or been closed a long time ago.

kryptonite on the other hand is a plot device that hasnt been used regularly since season four, or at all during 6.
