first of all, most everyone who's making those disgusted faces as they type for a 19-20 year old dude dating a 15-16 year old girl should take a chill pill and get off their high horses, there is indeed an age difference, and yes, there's the little legalities of it all, but c'mon!!! there's really very little difference at that stage, specially when it comes to maturity issues. a real problem would be a 25-26 year old dude dating a 15-16, now that's pathetic

most every guy I know wouldn't know the difference between a 16 year old girl and one who's 19... I've seen couples where there's that kind of 4-5 year gap between them and besides, if they are both considering the relationship to be serious, then what's the problem?

Technically its not illegal to date or hang out with a 16yr old girl if your a 19yr old guy. But if they're open about a sexual relationship, then thats a problem. But then again...what bizness does a college freshman have with a sophomore in highschool? I know plenty of dudes who graduated and then their first year in college were still coming back home on weekends to party with highschool kids and still hooked up with highschool girls. Its smalltown mentality, everyone knows everyone and it was accepted. As a guy...I hated this because girls I thought I had a chance with were jumping at the chance to be with a guy visiting home from college.

...i don't think a 20 y/o dating a 16 y/o is acceptable. it might only be a 4 year age difference but that's a big maturity gap. my opinion is that while you're a teenager you shouldn't be dating anyone more than 3 years older or younger (no freshmen dating seniors) and that's even pushing it. of course, there will always be acceptions to the rule but my opinion is only confined to the average maturity level of teenagers.

I really could care less. 16 is old enough to make your own decisions, and if necessary deal with the consequences. I think we might get into grey areas with 15 or 14 (14 certainly). But also you can't just look at it that way either. Because we would probably say it's okay for a 16 and 14 year old to date...but not a 14 and 20 year old. It really depends of the muturity of the people involved and the situation. Manipulative relationships are manipulative relationships no matter what ages are involved.

My friend, who is a freshman in college is dating a girl who is in tenth grade, a sophomore. Her parents r okay with it, as are the guy's. Is this right? Could he get into trouble because of it? They've got a really good relationship, which will have been on for 1 year come April.

as long as he has parental permission, a man can go out with a girl as young as 13 years old, because the parents are the ones would would have to press charges against him for anything that goes on...

But you're right, and that is also what I was getting at. With the sexual revolution, civil rights movements, and various other contributors along came a 'biatch' named political correctness.
