Loyal scooper Lizard wrote in with an update on the remake of HULK.

He said, "Well, here's what I found out : Universal isn't really doing it. It's going to be done through Marvel (independently, or close too) and it's called "Incredible Hulk". Bana is definitely not doing it - his contract was with Universal, and so on - so they're going to get a new Hulk. They're not going to be auditioning, but merely 'going out' to names. Should've guessed. Apparently the following guys could be either in consideration or in talks for the role : Dominic Purcell, Brendan Fraser, Adam Garcia. Typical bunch of names, if you ask me."

I would have to agree regarding the names, they all bore me personally.

Thanks to Lizard for the scoop.

Brendan Fraser, ugh... But Dominic Purcell... Hmmm

Technically I wrote this to the HM forum first. But I ain't typing it again, so here it is ctrl c, ctrl v. Just my opinion of course...:
Well now, that's about as official as you're gonna get...
I'm posting solely so I can be the first to call "Bull****".
I remember all the bull**** 'loyal scoopers' who posted rumors about X3. They all turned out to be completely bogus. Even one guy who posted behind scenes photos turned out to be a fraud.
Bana has said he wanted to do a sequel, on a lighter mood. Just in line with what Marvel has talked about. So the idea that he'd wiggle out of his contract because of it being with Universal doesn't gel with what he's said. The actors listed also aren't bringing bankability to the role. Eric Bana has more than them. He's had a good run of it lately.

I also don't think they'd relaunch Hulk so close to the other one, with a new cast. It'll just turn off more people. Two origins in a row. Wow. ~sniffs~ Smells like box office poison to me...but this is Marvel we are talking about. They can turn even the greatest smelling flower(Hulk/Ultimates) into rotten manure(Bruce Jones' Hulk/Ultimate Avengers movie).
8-9 days till the alleged director announcement. Hopefully more is elaborated so we can know just what is happening. :hulk:
[Ions wonders what the truth will turn out to be]

I hope this news is false because it SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!

I'd love to see David Duchovny as Banner.

Antonè, letto Watchmen di Alex Tse...

Well, if this is true, i have officially lost interest in this re-make, this sounds terrible, and will probably make less than the Ang Lee Hulk did.

I don't want a remake just make a damn movie it doesn't need to be direct tie in with the first movie. David Duchovny would be great for Banner if Bana didn't want to do it.

Unfortunately Duchovny can't act.

If it is indeed going to be a remake, that's the final admittance that the original was a failure.

how about Robert Downy Jr. as Bruce Banner? and if i could make this movie i wouldn't use hardly any CGI i would do the same kind of special effects they used on MR. HYDE in LXG. or get a real big guy and but a huge body suit on him. i would also make it a mix between the comic books and the TV show. i would leave the Army out of it and have him being hunted JAck Macgee. i would have him try and cure himself during the movie.

I didn't think this needed a new thread as all this has been mention in the first post, but ...

...this is just up at IMDb

Fraser and Purcell Favorites To Take Over Hulk Role

Actors Brendan Fraser and Dominic Purcell are set to fight it out to play The Incredible Hulk's alter-ego Bruce Banner in the movie's sequel following Eric Bana's decision to pull out of the project. Bana played the shape-shifting doctor in the 2003 movie, and was initially interested in a return to the role - if the timing was right. But, according to website Cinescape.com, the Aussie actor has stepped down as The Hulk medic and now The Mummy star Fraser and Purcell are the favorites to don the white coat and attempt to control their rage.

Yeah, another site re-reports the piece over there. Still no firm corroboration that the original news is actually true. Just as soon as someone starts quoting anyone in the know, colour me skeptical. :doom:
