Dominic Purcell Up for The Incredible Hulk?

Could have fooled me from all of this *****ing and moaning during the limbo period...hehe. Juggernaut also had to compete with what like 15 other characters for screentime?
i do want a sequel, but i want it to be done right. Juggernaut could have still be done well with the little screen time he had, they didnt need to make him into a f**king joke machine. They could have still made him look powerfull without having him say stupid s**t like "i have to pee" and crappy one liners. THey way he was beaten was even more stupid.

How do know its being handled wrong? We are still VERY early in production so we don't have much too judge on. It seems like we have been waiting so long for another Hulk movie that your judgements are coming out too quickly and your ****ting on things that are still considered rumor or how things are LOOKING. And if you haven't noticed that is how Juggernaut pretty much is in the comics. The only real problem I had was with his outfit. I loathed it.

F4 looked bad before it came out, X3 looked bad before it came out, Elektra looked bad before it came out. If they had hired someone with experience CGI, i wouldnt have been b**ching, if they had hired a writer who had written a good comicbook movie, i wouldnt be b**ching. I know you are going to say Fox is behind it but from everything we've heard of what Zak is looking for inspiration towards writing Hulk 2 and that Avi had a hard on for Man In Suit idea. You also add in that Zak and LL havent done a movie thats more than 90mins long... everything we've heard so far is like a kick in the nuts for the fan of the first Hulk movie and for the haters of the first Hulk movie. I dont think guys like CJ want Hulk to be Man in suit, i dont think they want Zak to use Bruce Jones as inspiration to write the sequel. I dont think they want 90mins film filled with crappy lines and bad action.

Nope I am done arguing with you. You obviously a certain way and I just feel your taking a bunch of rumors and statements and putting to much into them at this point. Oh well.

Totally agree with all of this. I am normally a good judge of when a comic book movie is going wrong, and i predict this one will be poor.

you actually telling me that TIH is going the right way?... if you were in charge, would you have hired Zak and Louise?... would you give a movie with 2 montser going toe to toe with each other 100mill?... would you?

Man in suit has been around since F4, Avi loves it, Denis Mulran (sp) said he'd go that way for the sequel, what the hell else do you want?

Generally, you can see which way a movie is heading before you actually see a trailer. There are some movies that look like total s**t on paper but turn out great. Making a sequel by changing the tone, the director, the writer, the look of the main character, the cast and everything else has never worked.

i hope Zak and Louise make me eat my words, i really do... i guess we'll have to wait and see. The trailers are like more than a year away, the script review might be in 6 months or so.

Bana is good stuff. He and the tank throwing scene made the first movie.

I've not been around here for i while. been skimming through the posts. question: Is the 'man a suit rumor' confirmed?

How many times I gotta say it? I saying it is too early to say it is going either way really. Seriously. Tell me what you know for a fact. Right now we just have IDEAS and RUMORS. That is al that I am saying.

Exactly. All of these panic threads and worry warts come out everytime there's a casting decision, a director chosen, or a plot point revealed. For God's sake we know nothing yet except they understand what went wrong with the first film in the fans eyes, and that they're going CGI+Animatronix w/man-in suit possibly in certain scenes. That's all we know besides the director who's made some good action films.

Well everything you described as fact there worries me, so i think we have every right to be worried. And the things they are changing are what i LIKED about the first movie.

Nope not me. I thought the CG was great in spots and average in others. Though, there were more great spots than average ones. I also liked the split screens and wipes. They were over used in my opinion, but I still think they added a comic feel to the movie. I think Ang went overboard trying to explain everything but that's just me. Some people like everything explained and to make sense or be believable. These are the things that I think will be changed. I think they may do some tests to see if a man in a suit will work or not. I doubt that they will go that way. If they do, what can we do about it? If they find that it works we should wait and see if it does. As of today, nothing has been confirmed one way or the other.

I seriously doubt that they (the powers that be) will let Zak just hand them a script and run with it. If they don’t like it, they will be changed, possibly even bring in a new writer. They want this movie to lead to several others. The story may be more simple than the first movie (whatever) but I do believe they looked around at other successful comic movies and seen what was working and what wasn’t.

Like I said before, Avis but is riding on this movie as well as Ironman. Marvel wants these two characters to be tent poles for the company. You have to remember that Marvel has been around for a long time. They do make mistakes but they also put out good products. It’s not so much what Avi wants or Zak or Frenchy. It’s what Marvels want that matters and I think and believe that they will do whatever it takes to bring these two characters to life in a big way.

Thats the problem though, Marvel are looking at the successful comic book movies, NOT the quality one's. The quality one's of the last few years have been Hellboy, Batman Begins, V For Vendetta and Superman Returns, none of these movies were successful box office wise. But X-Men 3 and Fantastic Four HAVE been succesful and made a lot more money than expected. These are the movies Marvel are looking at IMO, just because they made money, but they were both poor movies.

Those movies weren't successful at the box office?? Are you insane? Just because a movie doesn't make gigantic numbers doesn't make it unsuccessful.

BB made under 330 million worldwide on a 165 million budget, SR has made 360 million worldwide on a budget of 210 million, HB made 60 million WW on a 60 million budget, and V4V made 90 million WW on a 60 million budget. Not what i would call successful.

I ask, How do you know what movies they are looking at? Are you envolved in the thought process? Could they possibly be looking at Batman Begins and Spider-Mas 2? Or maybe looking at what worked in the Hulk and what didn’t work. Making an assumption that they’re just looking at the crapy movie it ridiculous.

I find it funny that you actually have the balls to say “I am normally a good judge of when a comic book movie is going wrong, and i predict this one will be poor” without knowing a single thing with regards to the story line, FX or budget yet. Everything you liked about the movie is being changed? How do you know this? Besides “It’s going to be closer to the comic” we no nothing. If it’s closer to the comic, Hulk fans are going to love it.

Wrong on alot of things. According to the reliable Box Office Mojo.

Batman Begins...Worldwide-$371,853,783 Budget-$150 million and has made a ton more on dvd sales.

SR...Worldwide(SO FAR AND NO DVD RELEASE YET)-$360,278,004 Budget-$270 million (BUT I BELIEVE THIS IS ALSO FACTORING IN A FAILED PAST ATTEMPTS)

Hellboy...Worldwide-$99,318,987 Budget-$66 million (I THINK THIS IS THE ONLY ONE YOU CAN CONSIDERED SOMEWHAT OF A FAILURE)

V for Vendetta...Worldwide-$131,411,035 Budget-$54 million

So it looks like you have A LOT of your figures wrong there buddy. :o If you think that the studios are complaining about the money these films have made then yes you are insane.

Well with the budgets, BOmojo doesnt factor in marketing costs, and with Superman costing more than i stated it is even less successful.

Actually I believe they combine marketing. They obviously did for SR. And so your gonna sit there and act like you just didn't fudge down the worldwide numbers for the movies?? Lol what a joke. And Superman was far from a failure. Disappointing?? Yes very. Failure?? Nope.

People are calling MI3 a failure, so is SR, they spent 260mill on the film and its doing badly. It'll end up behind MI3 and just above F4. BB was disaoppionting WW, F4 beat it and people were bitc*ing about how bad it (f4)was, Superman and Batman are character EVERYONE knows, yet F4 nearly beats one and beats the other one? Both BB and SR had critics going apes**t over it and yet they dont make alot WW, that shows you that people didnt like it. Hence, both Failures.

EDIT: Box office Mojo had BBs' budget as 180mill. THen they changed it.

Your comparing to movies that have been hugely successful which is why your calling it a failure. Those movies are in no way failures. It doesn't matter if it wasn't "successful as F4" it still made a ton of dough for the studio. I find it astounding that movies getting numbers in the upper 300 million range are really being called failures. Amazing. There is a big difference between failure and disappointing.
